This was an upgrade from a five-year-old Vizio 2.1 soundbar setup which was plenty loud with bass, but not good with dialog. I also wanted Dolby Atmos with up-firing speakers which this new 5.1.2 system has.
So far with this new 5.1.2, I find everything about it more superior to my old setup, from build quality to audio quality. The only negative so far is that the app that you must use to control the system lost its connection and I had to unplug the system and my TV to resolve that. Otherwise, smooth sailing: when Atmos content is sent over the eARC HDMI connection, the two rotating vents (and speakers hidden in the unit) rotate up like a charm. One note: be sure to set your TV's HDMI eARC port to "Bitstream" output NOT PCM, or you won't get Atmos processing on the soundbar.
In November I ordered a Black Friday 5.1 Vizio system different from this one (it has with "soup can" shaped surround speakers) but even though that system had Dolby Atmos processing, the sound from it wasn't enveloping like this one is (I returned it same week; one of the surrounds also had distortion I couldn't fix despite chats with Vizio customer support).
So that's my review of this Elevate setup - I recommend it, even with the quirk I covered above with the app. The build is very solid, the subwoofer is plenty big and kicks out plenty of low-level bass, the surrounds are clear and really help with the Atmos processing, and the app does provide fine control over the sound the system produces (as long as it's connected to the system). The ClearDialog setting in the app really does work also so you'll be sure to understand what the actors are saying.
OK, the product out of the way, here's some commentary on Samsclub.com's e-commerce setup: DON'T ORDER ONLINE FROM SAMSCLUB.COM.
Please know I am not one to write negative stuff just for fun. I also have overseen the development of ecommerce-enabled websites for major brands, so I know what goes into a successful ecommerce operation.
1) I tried ordering this system online and my card had a hold put on it, but the unit was not shipped out. Turns out inventory availability does not sync in real-time with Samsclub.com so you can place an order thinking an item is in stock when it's not. That was the case with this soundbar system. I ended up cancelling the order via chat on the site and going into a physical location to buy (got the 100 bucks off, so still a good deal).
2) They are using a third-party vendor for fulfillment -- so that's why order updates are glacially slow. In a post-pandemic world where every big box retailer got their ecommerce operations together, Sam's Club did not.
