So Far - works great for leveling humps in yard!

Purchased to help dig up two large mounds where pine trees used to stand. They were felled and the stumps were ground down, but there was a big pile of shavings that eventually became grass covered. Trying to dig them back to level with a shovel was extremely difficult due to all of roots. The Earthquake made short work of the mounds, ripping through the roots and breaking up the soil. After scooping up the roots and grass, and then raking the soil smooth, the yard is once again level. I highly recommend for similar tasks. Also used the edger attachment to clear the borders of driveway and sidewalk. The machine digs deep and gets you an "edge" but it is a little ragged. Following up with a string trimmer cleans up the ragged edges for a really nice final look.

Powerful complete package

I had been eyeing this cultivator since I first saw it in club. When the price dropped I snatched one up. It's teuly a tremendous deal considering it comes with the cultivator, edger and dethatcher. Online it doesn't say it comes with the edger and in store the box mentions it comes with the edger but doesn't picture it. The edger is indeed included. Assembly was easy for the basic cultivator. No tools are required other than snipping off a few wire ties. The handle is the only thing needing assembled and it is just four bolts with wing nuts. The wing handles are nice and big and easy to grip. The tines were already installed. It includes one bottle of two cycle oil. To switch to the edger no tools are required but to switch to the dethatcher you'll need wrenches to remove and install a couple bolts. Starting the first time was kind of rough in order to get it primed well but after that it was quite easy. I like that bothe the wheel height and the depth bar are adjusted without tools and are very quick. I used this in my yard which has tons of rocks of various sizes. It's practically impossible to use a spade to dig as it hits too many rocks. Usually it takes a pick to loosen the soil then a shovel to scoop it. This tiller handles the rocky ground well. It powers through it and is able to spit most rocks out of its way. It only jammed when a big rock just happened to go the wrong way. The tiller is light so it is easy to handle and maneuver. I really like the throttle handle as it's easy to use and responsive. You can easily control the amount of throttle all the way through its range. I have yet to use the edger or dethatcher but will be doing so very soon.

Powered through the job without a hitch!

Purchased in April and used in May (now it's August) and so far only used the dethatcher function -- it worked great with nary a slowdown to lift up years of old compressed crud! This has been the best looking summer my lawn has ever had. Do wish the switchover of components from the default cultivator to the dethatcher setup were somewhat easier/faster as it involved removing one shield guard/plate and installing another, as well as adding an adapter bracket and reinstalling the drag knife (or whatever it's called). Wish it all involved wingnuts, but no doubt they would not hold fast during operations. I anticipate, when used as a cultivator/tiller, this will work great for its size as it is lightweight enough for easy maneuvering, yet powerful enough to really dig. Oh, almost forgot -- this also includes a edger attachment which would be good for really deep cuts; but I typically use my string trimmer for routine sidewalk/driveway jobs. This has been a much better value purchase than a Mantis or other branded unit.

Fine performance

The Earthquakeperforms like a cultivator twice it's size but is far easier to handle. I used mine in a small tight space and it performed well and was much easier to handle. Mine started easy and ran very well. I would buy this product again and again.

Tough little tiller!

This tiller is a workhorse! The soil in Arizona is extremely hard but this tiller does the job! It actually removed some pretty sizeable stones. It is hard to start but I tried this and it works every time. Lay it down on the left side, put my foot on top while pulling the start cord and it fires right up.

Good value

Hardly use yet, but seems to be adequately powered with 43 cc engine. Also like choke as well as the bulb pump. Had one incident that troubled me. It stop throttling up engine RPMs after an hour or two use. I moved some screw a few degrees and back to original position and it is OK again. Still that incident is troubling to me.

easy to use

first one worked for an hour then locked up tines evidently no grease or oil in gears.Store gave me another this one worked without a problem. I tilled previous year garden spot 15 x 30 feet yes it took a few times going over area to obtain the depth I wanted but for a older person as I am it did the job without beating me up all in all good quality
