These MM 159 8 function solar lights are OK. For the following review keep in mind that I wrapped these lights around 10 feet of palm tree trunk approximately 5” in diameter for year round decoration. I will likely keep them unless they fail to work only because I purchased them at a discount & they were challenging to hang for my application. My findings: 1. There is about 3-4” between each light (that’s ALOT of space); 2. They are NOT very bright. Because of these two items, I needed to use TWO strands in a “crisscross” pattern to adequately light the 10’ of tree. 3. The wire is very thin. I doubt it will endure the harsh FL sun for more than 6 months. 4. They sometimes have a mind of their own. Meaning, the units will automatically change modes of lighting. I set for constant “on”, and I’ll look out and they’ll be flashing, blinking, racing or switched to one of the other 7 other modes (a festive but crazy experience with 2 crisscrossing strands, blinking and racing at the same time). 5. The solar cells seem to adequately absorb sunlight and charge the batteries even on overcast days. They remain lit (constant on) dark till dawn. Notice I said DARK NOT DUSK. It is dark before these come on. Well after street lights. These are ambient light sensitive. Direct light, such as from vehicle headlights, will cause them to turn off momentarily until the light passes. I would NOT pay full price for these lights.

Used on a small decorative christmas tree. Put the solar charging panel in a sun facing window and so far they work just as described. They hve several different patterns and are plenty bright to shine up a room.

I like the concept and I appreciate that you'll be able to use solar in order to charge up the lights.The problem was is that only half the lights would work even though they were at a full charge and place out next to the sun

Can't beat having solar light outside for the holidays. It saves on the electric bill significantly! Look beautiful and are colorful for the holidays. Will be getting lots more to switch over to use as many solar as possible.

So far these solar lights are staying on longer than others that I’ve had . The only complaint is that they aren’t bright enough , if doubled up they might look ok but in a single line they just aren’t bright. Still a good purchase, I doubled them so they don’t look terrible . We’ll see if they last longer than one season like some others I’ve purchased in the past .

This light strand came very nicely packaged and the lights are small and pretty. After reading the directions, I immediately set the solar lights outside to charge so I could turn them on. I had them in direct sunlight for over 8 hours and they did not come on. I then left them outside for an entire day, in which they did turn on. I like how you can press a button and they change from flashing to strobe and can also stay solid.

I had delayed writing a review because I was hopeful that the lights not working were my user error. Unfortunately, with moving the lights to a couple of different locations in my yard, the solar lights only worked on the first day. When they were working they were vibrant and colorful and I was very excited. If this could be resolved, they would be a wonderful product.

replaced some old electric lights on an outdoor metal tree with these and put the solar panel on inside dash of car night before i hung them and they worked that night they are pretty and I am using the changing function and even though it has been raining most of the 2 weeks since they have come on for at least 3 hours every night after a full day of sunlight they stay on all night glad I got 2 sste
