[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I received my speaker it looked similar to the other JBL speaker I have. I will tell you that it is not. The sound is amazing. You can hear this speaker from more than 5 houses away. We have used this speaker while doing yard work. We also take it on the golf cart when we are driving. The battery lasts for days, and it took about 4 hours to charge. This is a good speaker for the beach as it is waterproof. It can also be used for family picnics because the sound is loud enough for all to hear. We have also used it for small drive way get togethers. It is a little heavy so its not good for walking or hiking. When I go walking I use my JBL ear buds and my phone.

Zero complaints on what it does & what I need it to do - fill up a room with music & keep the energy going. With a built-in 7500mah rechargeable battery that powers the unit up to 20 hours of music &/or mixed use of music & charging capability for other devices via the USB-A jack in the rear, this is handy to take outdoors & not worry about the battery running out nor your other devices. Really love this size & need to find some kind of protective carrying case for it. I currently own a few different JBL bluetooth devices such as bluetooth earbuds, battery charger, & a few smaller-sized bluetooth speakers - all great quality & reassures me they'll deliver when I need them most!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using this speaker in my living room, home gym and while at work. So far what I've noticed is how well balanced the sound is between the highs and lows. The bass is perfectly balanced and it's amazing how clear music sounds even if you turn up the volume and it's definitely not missing out on lows. While other speakers overtake the bass as you turn up the volume, this speaker balances out perfectly on high volume and you can still enjoy high quality sounding music. A feature that came in handy for me was being able to charge my phone with the speaker and it's nice that it had the new USB type C port that almost all phones have now a day. If you're looking for a single speaker setup that you can take anywhere in a backpack this one is for you. Even though this speaker doesn't pair with other JBL Bluetooth speakers, this single speaker packs a punch by itself. Lastly, it goes without say, but JBL makes some good looking speakers.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Charge Essential 2 is a great sized speaker to take with me on the go. It was easy to connect my phone to through bluetooth and had strong sound quality. Its battery lasted for hours and the sound was able to carry while we were outside at the park. I also like that I can use it to charge up my devices as well as I often find myself needing to charge up my phone. I have not tested out the waterproof features, but am looking forward to using it as the weather gets warmer.

I would say this is one of the larger ones. I took a picture next to a set of headphones and a quarter for size comparison. Like all JBL speakers the sound is excellent. The base is deep and the highs are very clear. It maintains good clarity even at high volumes and it usually fills a large room. Would have no problem bringing this out for a party in my house. The beauty of the speaker is that it's not too big to take along with you on vacation or to the beach. Hooks up to your phone via Bluetooth almost instantly it doesn't lose the connection. You can't go wrong with this speaker. Highly recommend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Charge 2 has very clear and crispy sound, great battery life, charges quickly, and it's very durable. The weight isn't bad. Would be very easy to pack along anywhere you go. The sound is so powerful it fills a 900 sqft apartment. Best portable speaker yet!
