Filtrete 4" filter

We purchased this filter for the first last year. It is an amazing filter. Product does a great job filtering out dust in our home. You can actually see the difference in the minimal amount of dust in the house. It's a great product. Would recommend to any body needing a filter.

It is fair

My family and I moved into our 2800 square foot house in Minnesota almost two years ago. The filter that was in the furnace was not a 3M Filtrete filter and it was disgusting. I bought this product because it was the only filter of this size offered at the store where I bought it. I thought it would be a good deal considering it said that it would last up to 12 months. I'm no dummy, I know that when something says that it'll last up to any amount of time, that time should be cut in half under "normal" Minnesota conditions. Cutting to the chase, this product doesn't even last 3 months, and that's in the fall when the furnace fan never runs! We even had our ducts cleaned before installing our last filter. The product definitely works because of all the "stuff" trapped in it, but for a product to have a label on it stating that it will last up to 12 months, it should at least last 6 month in Minnesota conditions. I would recommend this product to anyone, however I would have to warn them about the replacement period being so frequent.

causes respiratory problems

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought the 1900 mpr filters and installed them. After a half hour of operation, I found breathing difficult and noticed a strange odor. Are these filters treated with some chemical? Not happy, considering the price of the filter.

Worth the cost

I decided to up spend on this filter and glad I did. I feel a piece of mind knowing this filter is on the job filtering the air thru my 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on the upper level. Will re-purchase when I get the automatic reminder telling me its time.

Best Value

I have used Filtrete filters for years! The 4" filter fits inside the frame of a disconnected electronic filter system that was always problematic. Filtrete filters perform better than the electronic system ever did and provide a superior return on my investment.

Wonderful filter - only lacks one thing

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used this 4" filter since replacing our furnace (used 1" Filtrete filters before this). Love how it cleans the air, especially since we have 2 Balinese cats. The only "con" about this filter is how hard it is to remove from the furnace. I finally figured out a way to attach a string to the front of the filter so that it's an easy pull-out when it needs to be changed. Perhaps Filtrete could come up with something like this, or 2 finger holes for easy removal.

Asthma Economically BEST choice house air filter

I am asthmatic so CLEAN AIR is not a low end necessity for me - it is a HIGH END necessity. I am very happy with my indoor air quality and knowing that I am able to stay healthier with cleaner air is double payback. I share with all people I come in contact with that what type of house air filter you use to clean your air DOES matter.

Easy to Install and Long Lasting

I've been installing this filter in our furnace since it became available. It not only produced a cleaner home interior (our house was built in 1913) but also keeps the motor/fan and its enclosure cleaner thereby saving major and expensive mechanical furnace repairs/replacements!

Best filter I have found so far

I've been using pleated 3M filters in my furnaces since I built my home in 1996 . I have gradually upgraded to higher MPR ratings as they have become available and am now using the 2800 healthy living filter in both of my systems . I'm extremely happy with this product and both subjective and objective findings suggest that these are high-efficiency filters . As an allergy sufferer I've noticed greatly diminished symptoms and moreover surface dust on furniture is much reduced . I also have a Dylos particulate counter that confirms much reduced dust levels. I was initially concerned that the 2800 filter would clog more readily and need more frequent replacement then the lower rated filters . This has not been the case however , as airflow remains excellent which attests to the high capacity of these filters .

Great Value

Filtrete filters are the best. I've tried cheaper brands and even though the measurements on the box are what I need, they don't fit my furnace correctly. They leave too much space. The Filtrete filters have a snug fit and really catch all the dirt. I would totally recommend them.
