I replaced my old grill because it was very difficult to control the temperature and initially burned the first sider. This griddle does not do that. I was a little disappointed that when cooking pancakes near the heating element, it does not cook evenly. I did allow the unit to preheat. This is my only issue. I love the design and the surface is so much better and easier to clean than my old ceramic one.

Yes the griddle is removable for washing but the probe holes could still get wet. Our last griddle( not dash) quit working from corrosion in those holes. Yes you need to let it dry completely before use. It is easy to wash in the sink without the base. Read the manual.The griddle works great for our daily pancakes and bacon. I'd like to try hamburgers but worry about heating where there is no food to cook. I have several Dash products and they are durable and I do use them.

First, it seemed to take forever to cook. I LOVE this griddle but the picture on the box inspired me to make fajitas and it took so long to cook the veggies. Second, the temperature control. I get that there is a temperature assigned to each number but do you think I’ll remember that? Do you think I’ll actually keep the booklet???? It’s just unrealistic. Finally, the crevice around the outside. It is VERY important to note that the black part does not get hot which is INCREDIBLE because I often cook in a sports bra but I’m also a messy cook and there is explicit to not get crumbs in between the griddle and the rim as it’s difficult to clean…which is annoying, because I know I will do that at some point.

Strangely, I have lived almost 72 years without owning a griddle. I received the DASH griddle last week and have already employed it 4 times since. I love this griddle. I won't be using an assortment of pans and 2 or 3 stovetop burners to create my meals...just one lovely evenly-heated surface will do everything.

I need to experiment more with how to get the best results. Mr first use was a fried egg without greasing the plate, and it stuck. Maybe the plate was too hot? My second use was pancakes. I very lightly greased the plate only when I first started, and I was able to use up all the batter without having to re-grease the plate. None of the pancakes stuck one bit.

It is so versatile. I can throw almost anything on there for a quick meal, oancakes, waffles, French toast, hamburgers, tortillas for tacos, quesadillas...etc.One thing that has me bothered. I can’t seem to remove burn stains off the griddle. Tried whit vinegar, lime juice, soft scrub sponge, baking soda mixture. Nothing works as in the stains haven’t fully disappeared.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very versatile! Let’s start off by saying that basically nothing you make on here will taste as good as it would if you made it on cast iron. That being said, this worked great for camping so that we did not have to make a fire. I also used it to expand my cooking space for some Christmas morning pancakes! Works well for the price and convenience.
