We made the mistake of going cheap and ordering a "highly rated" bed-in-a-box mattress sight unseen from another company and it was awful. We quickly returned that one and decided to get more serious and went in-store to try out some other mattress options. After many exhaustive options we finally landed on the Stearns and Foster Lux Estate, pillowtop firm. Still, it's hard to judge a mattress just from a quick 5 minute test in a store with sales people hounding you. I am here to say that we've now had our mattress for a full week and it's seriously the most amazing mattress I think I've ever slept on in my life. I will sound like an advertisement, but I also noticed my ongoing neck and shoulder pain has also disappeared. It's a splurge and an investment but so happy we made the upgrade.

I purchased my mattress as I was working for mattresss firm I love the sterns and foster collection! I was having bad back and hip pain and upgraded my mattress to the lux estate I love it I sleep well. My husband loved it as well, the perfect level of softness for me not supper soft and not super firm. Only thing I wish it had the option to feel more on the tempur indulge foam and the mattress can be very heavy when I'm changing the sheets. I love the support of the springs. The weight of the mattress is my only con but as far as comfort and quality I'm super happy! I don't see myself changing this mattress any time soon definitely will stick to the sterns and tempur family for my sleep needs. I plan to add a adjustable base in the future, been thinking about it . Great mattress

The sleep I get is worth every penny this mattress retails for. The firmness is comfortable for both myself and my wife and we are very picky about firmness of a mattress. It's taller than other mattresses so my fitted sheet wants to ride up and pop off so I'm constantly readjusting that. That's been an unfortunate problem. I like how supportive it is, yet has a nice soft pillow top. It doesn't have that factory smell which is so nice. Makes me think the materials used are higher quality.

My only complaint (if any) is that it seemed to hold in body heat, so some nights are a little warmer. Other than that, I would recommend this mattress to anyone-especially those who suffer from back or joint pain. It allows the body to decompress from a hard day and remain in that position. What a disappointment. Shoulder pain, upper back pain, and hot. Mattress is cool when you climb into bed, but after a few minutes the mattress is getting very warm. This causes me to toss and turn. I bought this at a retail shop and can't return it so I'm stuck with a mattress that is hot and uncomfortable. I called S&F's customer support and told me to buy a cooling mattress topper. Oh joy, more money to spend to fix their crummy mattress design. Makes you wonder if they did product testing. Overpriced. This mattress may end up on curb.

I have been sleeping on this mattress for about 3 weeks now and am enjoying it. The pillowtop is incredibly plush and you just melt into it. I am a stomach sleeper and have trouble finding mattresses that are comfortable for me. This one has the softness of the pillowtop, but still has support, which is working out well for me. I have not been having as much back pain when I wake up. One concern I have is that despite having a firmness below the pillowtop for comfort while sleeping, the sides of the mattress do not seem to have as much side support as other mattresses I've had. I do not know if this will effect it long term, but is one thing I will be keeping an eye out fur issues as I have this mattress long term.

I'm a single mom and my budget for mattresses isn't very much and I'm used to sleeping on mattresses that go flat in a matter of months. That being said, every single night of sleeping on this Stearns & Foster feels like the first and it's been weeks! I'm not a tiny woman, I'm tall and pushing 200lbs. I haven't been making a dent in my new mattress and that makes me so happy! The first night was a little rough adjusting from a very soft to a very firm mattress. However since that first night i don't think i have ever woken up feeling so refreshed in a long time. I used to wake up several times a night, unfortunate result from insomnia. But, since getting this mattress, my nightly wake ups have been significantly less and even none a few nights. My back isn't hurting as much. But perhaps the best part is myself and my husband are not snoring as much. I have enjoy the height of the mattress, it is taller than our old one.
