Great Product

I purchased this to replace my magic bullet. Which, by the way lasted me about 15 years. I use the nutribullet to make shakes, blend scrambled eggs and various other thing. I love it and use it almost daily. I even creamed soup in it. The clean up is so easy. Well worth the investment.

The beast

This blender is a beast. It can tackle anything you throw at it. I don't know how others have so much problems with it but I have 2 which I cycle through the blending bases every 6 months. One person commented on the weight, yes it's heavy because it's a big 900 watt motor in there. The lighter products have a smaller motor which will be lighter with less power and faster to burn out or overload if you made a lot of smoothies or stuff it with a lot of ingredients. You need to put enough water or other liquid in for the blender to mix it properly especially if you're using frozen fruits. If not the blades with have a hard time breaking and mixing it up. I've literally made over a thousand smoothies with my machine and it's still going strong. You have to be smart and be able to hear the sound of the motor to know when it's being overloaded and need to add more liquid. I have a technical background so my ears are more attuned to what to listen for. I make smoothies everyday and the blender runs less than a minute. That's how fast this beast chews everything up. Everything is put in is frozen and the motor struggles at times but I add more water and I pick it up and turn it side to side to help the ingredients move inside. I must say though, the blades do need a better design but I don't think it can be much better than it is. The bearing did go bad, I could hear the sound very increasingly louder and when you spin the blade I can hear the grinding of the bearing because it's lacking the grease. The grease had leaked out into my smoothie ( I drank it anyway). The gasket had come off a few times and got mixed into my drink but sure why. But luckily it didn't break. The tabs on my cup broke off due to wear and tear but understandable because I use it so much. I notice after awhile the coating inside the cup wears away, or the plastic in it just get so worn by the amount of product being beaten around in there that a film starts to build up that has to be scrubbed clean. In the beginning its super easy to clean the cup but I think it's the wear and tear of multiple uses that does. The gasket needs to be removed and cleaned in all the small grooves as well as inside the base where it sits. The blades needs to be scrubbed clean top and bottom although it's very difficult to get under the blade. I think I use it more than a typical user but overall I think it's well worth the money for what it is. I don't expect the blade or the cup to last extended use and would have to be changed accordingly. Same as vehicles and other mechanical products things do wear and have to be maintained this is not an exception. My 2 cents.

Replaced an old one

I bought this one to replace an old one that I've used for many years. I think it's important to not fill above the fill-line on the side of the container or it can push out around the gasket, get into the upper tabs on the wall of the bullet and cause them to stick, and get into the lower areas of the blender base, causing them to stick as well. I have always had a little difficulty getting the container/blade assy. to anchor and turn-lock in place so that it does starting spinning. I have to jiggle the assy. sometimes to get it to turn, but I can get it to do so every time with a little coaxing.

It stopped working in about a year.

I liked it when it worked, but they use cheap plastics with the motor assembly, I tried to take it apart. Before I got too far I spotted the broken pieces that were connected to the internal pressure sensitive off and on switch. No hope no fix, had to trash it.

I love the original one!

I have owned two nutribullets -of the original one-. I love them. I took them to my office and work place, so I decided to buy one more for my house. This time, I went for the 900 series. It works well, but I DID NOT notice ANY difference from the first series. It is at least $25 more expensive, it is supposed to crushed everything and be more powerful, but I find it exactly the same. I should have bought one more of the ones I owe and save some money. Still, Nutribullet changed my life. Go for the original one. That will be good enough.

Needs some design improvements

When my Magic Bullet finally gave out, I thought this was the next/better generation of the same. While the blades work a little better to blend things like kale and large chunks of ice, it's nearly impossible to open after it's finished blending. The cup itself is so wide I can barely get a grip around it to twist.

Not got one

Faulty mechanism

I purchased a nutribullett approximately 18 months ago, my daughter also got one at the same time. She had to e change hers due to one of the 3 tiny plastic parts breaking off when fitting tthe container on to the bottom part. Mine has now got the same fault. Unusable and I can't find my receipt. Not at all happy and find the parts very flimsy, a tiny bit of plastic will inevitably break. Would appreciate a response as to what happens now as they are not cheap !

Makes a perfect smoothy every time.

Make a great drink after a workout. With frozen fruit right out the freezer,a measure of soy protein, mixed with almond or coconut milk. In no time the mixture is done ready to drink. The motor is strong enough to do the job, however I did notice an odor very time it starts up. Maybe it's just breaking in.Hopefully it will hold up.

1st Base Lasted a Year, 2nd MAYBE 6 Mos

1st base unit was a BEAST, lasting a year+ before it started smelling like something was burning inside (still runs, but I'm not taking any chances). 2nd base unit sees equal use, but isn't going to make it to 6mos - motor overheats every use and auto-shuts off before blending is complete. I'm really sad 2nd purchase was inferior to 1st. Will be researching competitive products before making my replacement purchase =(

I love it, my husband....not so much :(

I LOVE my NutriBullet, the juices it makes are fabulous but if you're prone to Kidney Stones, be careful with the type of extracted ingredients you use...in particular those high in Oxalates. (Look it up, National Kidney Foundation seems to have the best info) Check with your family doctor if you're concerned or have concerns too. As with anything, moderation is key.
