The safe slice mandolin is great to use and totally safe, It also has multiple ways to adjust the sloicer for your exact needs.

Really easy to use. Instructions are easy to follow and give great results. Have never felt safer using a mandolin.

The numbers in the back are quite difficult to see. I used it but couldnt get the setting I wanted. It did a good job slicing the onion.
