So far so good. I have had it about a week. I am happy to not have recycling cluttering the countertops because everyone would leave it for me to take out to our bins. Yay! The can is a bit shorter than my previous garbage can and is only a bit wider. I feel it is overpriced and am concerned the steps for opening each side will not last- they don’t seem very strong. I knew when I bought it that each bin would be smaller than the 13 gallon bin I am used to. I don’t mind taking out the trash more often. I would love it if each could be 13 gallon though. At this time I am happy with the purchase (I have never been so excited about getting a garbage can). I did not rate higher because I do feel it is over priced and don’t feel the quality is what it should be. I hope it will last!

I have been looking for a solution to our eye sores of garbage and recycle cans. Mine are out in view and are in the way. This can solved both issues. Other reviewers warned me about the bag slipping down, so I wasn't surprised, but it's annoying. The bags do not stay in place. The bins are smaller than my old cans so we must take both recycling and waste out at least twice a day, but it's worth it for the cleaner look in my kitchen. The fact that you cannot open it any other way besides the foot pedal is annoying, more fir my husband than for me. The price is great, mine arrived in two days, a day earlier than scheduled! It was in perfect condition. I like it, however if they make a new model,I suggest minor improvements.

A year later and it's still holding strong! If you have a bigger household you might need something bigger, this is perfect for my small kitchen in my tiny apartment and there's only two of us there. There's been no malfunctions or issues w/this garbage can and you can't beat the price!

The main reason I will be returning is because it is not fingerprint resistant. If you had kids at home, don't bother-- it'll look a mess quickly. We had a 16L garbage before and this one doesn't seem to fit much more. The pedals are also very, very stiff. It does look nice out of the box though.

Large and sturdy. Going from two full-size trash cans (one for trash, one for recycle) to a dual compartment trash can will take some getting used to. However, this is the larger of dual compartment trash cans that I found on the market for an affordable price. My only complaint is the pedals are hard to push and the lid did not pop open enough. However, we just added cabinet pulls to the lids and it alleviated that problem.

I purchased this because I wanted a central location for both garbage and recycle that had a larger capacity than my previous under the sink solution. I love the functionality of it in my space and makes my son's garbage duty much easier. Here are some things to note: 1. If you use garbage bags from Costco (or any 13 gallon) it will never fill the bag up- I had to get over feeling like I was wasting a rubbish bag for the trade in convenience this can gives me to not have to take the recycle out 3 times a day 2. When putting in the garbage bag, there is no rim liner that holds it in place (but that's ok!) Just place the bag in like you do a normal can, pull the drawstring on your bag, and push the middle of the bag in- NO VISIBLE TACKY BAG for OCD folks like me! 3. There's a silver handle to get the inner can out of the base container, a little hard to find if using a trash bag- my remedy is to always have the handle on the same side, closest to me so I don't get my hands all dirty from what may have been thrown away (it being a little more combersome to take out is what made this a 4 star product, not 5) I tried 4 other dual rubbish bins and this was the winner for me and worth the cost!

Great purchase! Would have given 5 stars, however... the handles on the plastic removeable trash bins get caught on the garbage bags when pulling them out.... so we just removed the handles to make it easier. I love that its an all in one piece as opposed to having 2 separate trash cans in our kitchen. I would recommend this product.

Overall we like this side by side trash/recycling can. The only two critiques are that it would be nice if the lid remained open a little longer after stepping on the foot pedal because once you let off the foot pedal, that lid is coming down fast. If the design allowed for a slow close lid, it would be the perfect item! The other thing to be mindful of is the 16 gallon capacity means finding the perfect size bag a bit challenging. The standard kitchen trash can size is 13 gallons so they are the most readily available bags in the stores. They will work, but they aren't the ideal size for this can. Despite these two things, this side by side can is great! We really like the convenience of having the all in one design and it seems to be well built.

I needed a solution for a smaller kitchen that would allow me to have both trash and recycle together. I also needed something sturdy enough that my dogs would not turn over! This product does the trick! It fits nicely at the end of the counter and is plenty sturdy to keep my dogs in check. Each side of the unit is smaller than separate tall kitchen cans, but it is a great compromise for what I needed. Inside heavy plastic bins hold the trashbags so nothing shows when closed. Great Product.
