What Happened!!!

I have eaten Marie's chicken pot pies for years and thought they were wonderful. I had one recently, it seemed half the size and was nothing but crust, three or four very small cubes of chicken and almost no vegetables. I know all about our present economy but, is this an indication of the type of food we have to look forward to, especially from our old time favorites? Some of us older folks, especially disabled rely, in part, on delicious prepared meals that we can pop into the microwave and these pies are a great letdown now. I hope they will improve!!!

Family Size Chicken Pot Pie

I anticipated an entr?e that would be as loaded with veges and chicken as the picture intimated and that would be as satisfying as the individual deep dish pot pies. Well, I was wrong, There was lots of liquid filling but the vegetables were few and drifting in a sea of sauce. I found chicken, an average of 4 bite size pieces per slice. If crust is all you want, then this is the pot pie for you. But if you're hoping to have a satisfying entr?e, make your own family sized pot pie from scratch.

What happened to the filling?

The last 3 chicken pot pies I bought there was the same problem, outstanding crust, but almost 0 filling. One piece of chicken (yes I am serious) and 3 small pieces of carrot, in maybe 3TBS gravy! The crust is perfect, don't mess with it, but come on! Put the filling in, these used to actually be the way the photo looks, stuffed with yumminess. Now we get a near empty crust.

These used to be so good

I used to get these as a guilty pleasure. I had no illusions they were anything resembling healthy, but they were so good, I didn't care. Now? Totally not worth it. There's very little filling and no matter how much time I cut off the cooking time, the inside of the top crust is completely burnt. I bought 2 a couple of weeks ago, one original and one chicken corn chowder (that was an accident, I just saw chicken and grabbed it out of the freezer case at the store), both were pretty much the same with the corn chowder version being slightly worse since there was basically just a hollow shell and nothing resembling a gravy or sauce inside. Just not worth the fat, carbs, or sodium if it's not going to be even remotely satisfying.

Allergy Concern

After carefully reading through all the ingredients of this pot pie so I will not risk an allergic reaction to Rosemary, Upon eating it there is a very strong flavor of Rosemary. I break out into hives and can go into anaphylaxis due to Rosemary. The flavor is unmistakable. I believe more companies such as this need to take more responsibility with full disclosure of ingredients. The flavor and quality was fine but I need to know ALL the ingredients before cooking or eating.

Terrible Chicken Pot Pie

I just tried your Chicken Pot Pie for the very first time. I heated it to package directions. Let me tell you that it was terrible!!! Way too salty; 750mg really? The texture of the chicken was akin to rubber. The carrots weren't cooked all the way; the large ones anyway. I ate the pastry which was pretty palatable!.

Why change something that wasn't broke?

Recently I purchased a chicken pot pie and was shocked by the changes in it. I'll admit it has been probably 3-4 years since I bought one; because the sodium is so high, I try to stay away from them but that night at the grocery store, I thought I would treat myself. Needless to say, what a disappointment. Although the flavor was there on the inside mixture, the crust was horrible and the chicken hard. They used to be so delicious. The crust was the worst part; it was puffy and hard/dry. Although I buy some of your other entrees, I would never purchase this again. As a suggestion, I would like to see more of your meals have less sugar content. Why does macaroni/cheese or the rice/chicken meal have sugar? Who puts sugar in mac/cheese? Just a suggestion but when I go to buy a frozen meal, the first thing I check is sugar content and the sodium content. I am sure many other customers do the same thing.

Chicken Pot Pie

I really like your frozen fruit pies. However, we have purchased the chicken pot pie with the thought that it would be one of the best, but discovered that it is dry. The flavor and ingredients are good, but both the larger and smaller pot pies do "not" have enough gravy in them. We were very disappointed! We will not be buying any more of this product, unless you add more gravy to the recipe.

Very disappointed

Have always enjoyed MC chicken pot pies, not real healthy however good comfort food if you don't make a steady habit of them. Haven't eaten one in at least a couple years, tonight I indulged and was very disappointed. MC has re formulated (probably to save money) and the experience has changed, the chicken looks and tastes as though it is reconstituted . . . the seasoning of the chicken is equally odd and tastes a bit chemically/soapy. Disappointed with ConAgra as well since I am a long time stock holder.

Yummy....but like any good pastry crust

YUMMY! But like any good pie with a pastry based crust, the crust had got the calories, which is because there's no way to make a crust without flour and shortening that's going to come out flaky and yummy. So, if you don't mind the calorie count or you're willing to work to burn them off, it's worth it. But if you're planning to exist solely off these pies, you'd better be planning on running several miles a day.
