I've had the iq3500 for 3 months

... and it cranks good and runs quiet , -- until I plug in something in. Then it makes a whistling or whining noise that is louder than the motor. Called all repair people in my area to check it out and all that are still in business say they only work on whole home generators. 2 of them kindly looked at it and listened and said it may be supposed to make that noise. It charges fine an for now I'll try to enjoy the whistling.

Broke down after 3 hours

Bought this generator for California’s wild fire power outages, after 3 hours of runtime the generator started running rough and not producing power. Contacted Generac to fix it under warranty, Generac referred me to a local repair shop, I’ve been waiting for 6 weeks now to find out what’s wrong with it. I have a $1000 generator that has spent half it’s life in a repair shop without any answers.

I like this iq3500 except.....

Seems like a great product but the motor started surging after the first hour of usage. I suppose there is a plugged orfice of some sort in the carburetor but I don’t really want to take it off and clean it. The fuel filter should have taken care of this issue. ??

30 amp advertising misleading

I bought this to power a small rv with a small a/c unit. It is strong enough to handle it; however, I am having to purchase an adapter to go from the L5 outlet to the TT30r. $800 is a lot to me, but this is my third generac product and all have worked well. It is quiet. I just wish that I had known that it would not work out of the box without purchasing something else. I called customer support and told them what I needed and they did not inform me of that either. Not a negative review but a head's up for future buyers.

Great product so far.

Like this product because the noise level is very low compares to others. Love the display gauges that display gas level and remaining time. All portable generators should have this. Using this unit as a home backup to keep the fridge running and some lights during blackouts. So far so good.

I’m a first time owner

Since I had no idea what to expect, I have been extremely impressed with my 2200. I made coffee in the morning for myself and several neighbors and ran the frig when necessary. It is very quiet while running and I love the USB ports. I didn’t have cell service or internet but I could play solitaire on my iPad if I wanted. It’s light enough that I could loan it to a friend after my power returned and his did not. I love this product.

1/2 Pull First Start - Incredibly Quiet

We finally purchase a Generac GP3000i for our RV and household emergency power needs. It is undoubtedly the easiest, most convenient and quietest generator on the market today. I am highly recommending this to any one who is considering purchasing a generator

Blown away by the IQ3500. Quiet and Powerful

We have been using this Generac IQ3500 for over 300 hours now without issues. We camp on our houseboat and instead of using the onboard generator that uses 1.6 Gal/Hr, we have a 30A twist lock into the boat to run all of the 110v. It generally runs 12-16 hours depending on load. Its super quiet in Eco mode and isn't very loud running full open. This has allowed us to extend our camping time and save money in gas to run everything except the 220V HVAC! I am thoroughly impressed with this generator. The onboard display center shows me hours, gas percentages, load, and estimated time. It has made it easy to keep up on maintenance for oil changes, spark plug and checking air filter/spark arrest filter. Would recommend this to anybody that is looking for clean power to camp, run power tools, microwave, or anything in the 30a and below range.

defective, had to have it repaired with less than 1hr run time- disappointing!

although this unit is the perfect size and wattage for camping, I had problems from the start. Literally the second time I started the unit, it would not shut down when switching to off position. I had to choke to shut down. After returning from its maiden camping trip, I was lucky enough (with Generac's help) to find a repair shop that replaced the defective part. A lot of waisted time and effort to repair a brand new generator. I will probably never buy another Generac product. Colorado Camper .
