This review is for a GP3300i

I haven’t used it very much, just a couple times at home. We bought it for camping with our travel trailer. It is very quiet and responds quickly under load. So far so good. When camping season starts in Michigan we will be using it a lot more. I think it will work great for our application.

Great generator

I bought this last night at mills fleet farm due to the outage from windstorms in our area. Utility keeps pushing back power back on time and date. As these outages are becoming more common, I purchased this for these emergencies. Started first pull after removing from box and adding fuel and oil. Unit is fairly quiet. Ran my freezers and refrigerators, tv overnight. Was surprised, unit ran longer than anticipated at about 8.5 hrs. Very pleased. So much so, that next bring I will be installing a complete home stand by gen set with auto switching. So tired of our outsourced utilities. Generac hit a homer as far as I’m concerned. Great product.

Research. I was surprised.

The generator runs well and supplies our needs, though use has been limited. My confusion came from the following two areas. 1. Where manufactured I'm in Wisconsin, as are several Generac locations. I thought they were made here, but the box says made in China. That was a major reason for not purchasing from Harbor Freight. 2. Warranty I thought the warranty was 3 years full coverage - again, research, it is not. I purchased it at a reasonable sale price, so not so painful. It just felt like information was purposely unclear.

Great new iQ model to the lineup!

Great new product from Generac. We also have their other iQunit, iQ3500, which we use for camping and other needs but needed something with more functionality and ability to connect to our LP tank which this product solves our need. Super quiet, easy to start and move around with the added wheels vs the prior model.

Super impressed at first but then...

I bought this generator to run my cab-over camper on various trips throughout the year. I had a 2K watt previously and it just wasn't enough to handle the microwave and other accessories, so I upgraded to the Generac 3K watt and at first was impressed at how quiet it was and how it seemed to handle all my accessories fairly easy ripening through the 30amp RV outlet, but then...on a recent trip I decided to camp in a tent shelter and use the generator to run a 1500 watt space heater to keep warm at night, but unfortunately it was not able to run the heater without going into fault mode. So I went to town and bought a second heater and had the same issue. I tried powering it through the 30 amp outlet with an adapter and had the same problem. Unfortunately I have no idea how a 3K watt generator can't handle a 1500 watt space heater, but this generac cannot unfortunately. Pretty disappointing to say the least. I run non-ethinol fuel and make sure the oil level is good, so I'm just not sure if the governor is set too low so it can't reach a true 3000 watts or what the issue is? Back to the drawing board I guess. Would I recommend this generator now? Probably not. At first, absolutely.

Not impressed

First weekend out with it... first use it wouldn't run write and it spent 2 1/2 weeks waiting on the warranty guy to get approval to work on it and see what the issue was. Just got it back hoping it works this weekend otherwise it's going back to the shop

Great Quiet Invertor

Runs my 30amp camper flawlessly. Camped beside people running a predator 3500 and a Westinghouse 4500 and this IQ3500 was much more quiet and lasted longer between fill ups. I can’t even hear this running when in the camper and eco mode turned off! A+ buy all around!

Generac GP2200i Portable Generator

Decided to buy this generator in Aug, 2020 with using it for camping in mind, but due to COVID 19 have postponed camping. In November, 2020 we had a major ice storm in Edmond, OK and were without power for 5 1/2 days. This little generator was a real life saver. It helped us power several items at different times, i.e. refrigerator, coffee maker and television and allowed us to charge our phones, laptops, etc. It is amazing how God plants a thought into your mind and you act on it and everything works out as it should. Thanks, Generac for an excellent product. It started immediately and ran like a champ for the full 5 1/2 days. We will probably get another one for 2021 camping season.

Great generator - poor welds on wheel brackets

Opened the box to a brand new one thousand dollar generator. Everything looked great. Not a blemish anywhere. Started assembly and all is well. Wheels installed no problem. Handle, added oil, connected battery, gassed up, started and ran beautiful; again no problem. First time moving on wheels; problem. Both wheel brackets broke free from all but one weld. Impossible to move more than six inches without backside wheel pigeon toeing into the muffler. Hurricane Delta was fast approaching to my area of south Louisiana so I wasn’t about to return a good running generator. I would tough-out the inconvenience and deal with it after the storm. I wasn’t about to return the 200 pound unit and spend the time assembly another. The generator turned into a thousand dollar stand-by insurance policy. I’m otherwise happy for making the purchase. I’m not the first one to experience the weld breaks after reading reviews. Serious consideration for a Generac whole house standby generator purchase is now in jeopardy unless my complete satisfaction with warranty claim is made.
