What's wrong with mine?

This tire came standard on my 2011 Lincoln MKS (purchased used with 13,000 miles) and they perform flawlessly until a little snow and then it's like I have a set of slicks. I live in Minnesota and that's not a good thing. Seriously, other cars pull away from me and I just slip. I have to turn off the traction control because it will absolutely not move otherwise. I love Michelin tires. I have had a policy of no other brand but there is something wrong with these. As I look for replacement tires before this winter everything keeps pointing me to these tires. What to do?

Awesome 3 out of 4 Seasons

I drive primarily highway. I've been making the 86 mile round trip commute for nearly 14 years. I'm over 250,000 miles in that period on a variety of tires (mostly Michelins). I thought these tires were great in terms of comfort and handling from Spring through Fall. Unfortunately, I only got 43,000 miles on these tires instead of the 55,000 miles for which they are rated (the first time I've failed to go over the treadwear rating). I also found the winter traction to be below-average for the category. It is apparent to me that this tire is highly biased toward touring performance in the dry/wet at the expense of winter.

Ride Improvement

Great tires! Replaced the OE tires with a set of Primacy MXM4's and ride, handling and braking immediately and substantially improved on my 2010 Ford Fusion Sport. I've used Michelin tires before and have never been disappointed with their wear life and performance.

Fantastic Ride

I have used Michelin tires for decades and these Primacy tires provide a very soft and comfortable ride. My last set gave me 66000 miles and I only changed them because they were over four years old; I could have got another 12000 miles from them. I have had the present set for 11 months and have done 12000 miles and they look new as ever. I bought the car 7 years ago and it came from the dealer with a different brand of tires which I had to change after two years. When I put on the Primacy tires there was an immediate improvement in the ride. I also get about four miles more per gallon with these tires than the manufacturer's highway fuel economy rating for my car. Would recommend these to anyone looking for better overall performance and long lasting tires. Great job Michelin!

Primacy MXM4 on Ford Crown Victoria

My original tires were an OEM Michelin. I was satisfied with them but wanted to upgrade on my next set. I went with the Primacy MXM4. They were excellent! Great steering response, never made any noise, never needed to be re-balanced. I rotated as you should but was able to run them 92,000 miles. They still had serviceable tread but I decided I had gotten my money's worth. I put on another set last year and my 165,000 Crown Vic still feels like it did when I brought it home in 2004. I'm now putting a set on my Challenger RT.

Threadwear, 18,000 miles

Primacy MXM, 225/45/18, installed on new, 2015, Avalon (Toyota), 4/32 thread left at 18,000miles. Car is only 2 yrs 8 months old. Mostly driven local, 1 trip to Havasu, Grand Canyon. My experience with Michelin get 80,000 miles. What happened? I am disappointed. Zack Z.

Micheline Primacy MXM4

We have always changed out our dealer tires for Michelin tires once they require a new set of tires. We always opt for Michelin tires due to not just the quiet ride or the great road handling during bad weather, but also for the support. We had a tire once that we had to replace due to an issue with the tire. We took it back to our installer and they called Michelin which then covered the cost of replacing the tire. When you have great customer service and a great product, it is hard to beat that combination.

First time Michelin buyer

I purchased a 2008 Honda Accord EX-L V6 Coupe in May, 2012. Car had OEM Michelin Pilots which were nearing its life span. The tires were ok on dry surfaces but not much grip in wet conditions. I drove on those OEM's for 3 months and after much research I decided on the new Primacy MXM4 Touring All Season. The difference in handling and comfort was immediate. Cornering power is very good and dry traction is excellent. I waited a week for it to rain and they didn't disappoint me. Outstanding handling and grip on the wet roadway. I've put 2k miles on these so far. I'm very happy with my first Michelin purchase and well worth the extra cost over the competition.

Bought second set for Infiniti M37x

Bought the M37 in 2015 with 6000 miles one it. Now has 45,000. Front tires have at least 5,000 miles left. Rear tires are worn more. NEVER rotated them but wear was even. (no excuse). Must admit they were getting noisy. Researched other tires weighing ride. noise, handling, wear. After one of the back tires began to lose air pressure I decided to replace them and decided to stay with the MXM4. I'm fairly certain I could have got 50,000 out of the tires but I was satisfied considering this is an all-wheel drive car at 330HP and my heavy foot. New set is much quieter than the original set. Fingers crossed.

I have had Michelin tires ...

I have had Michelin tires on my cars for the past 39 years. My first set was on a 1971 VW Square Back. These were some of the first radials to be sold in the US. Ive had Michelins on my cars every since. Its a brand that has never had quality issues and is a name you can trust. Its my tire of choice.
