It was fine- logical and straightforward overall. I chose Turbotax for our small LLCs even if it costs a little more. My only issue is the failure to have an easy upload from Quickbooks desktop 2020 or allow an Excel upload. It seems that Intuit has really tried to discourage people who bought their desktop products from being able to keep using them.

Misleading questions led to a wrongly filed return. It asks if you are a non-U.S. citizen, and if you answer yes, it wrongly designates you as a foreign partner. U.S. resident aliens should be classified as domestic partners. It’s hard to believe that the tax preparation software I paid so much for makes such a stupid mistake. I seriously doubt I’ll be using it again next year!

Pretty easy and explanatory. Navigating the software was fine, but it is expensive. At 190, almost 200 dollars, I find it too expensive, especially for a small business. There should be at least a discount for long time customers like me. Or a one-time special promo of 50% off or something.

I've used Turbo tax for many years and like the program. I always find it confusing as you prepare to file the return with so many different windows for printing the return. When I am ready to file, I would like to come to one final window that allows me to print a complete filing copy (without instructions assuming I am filing by mail) and a file copy to be retained with filing instructions.

The software was very helpful to complete the1041 but failed when I tried to e-file the return. I received an Error 2 code, so I contacted your help team and was told that other people had reported the same issue and they were working on it. That was 4 days ago and I now have to file the return by mail. Very unfortunate that you have not been able to address the issue in this time period. I have used TT for almost 25 years, but this is an unacceptable issue.

It all worked to produce the return both federal and Wisconsin state. The 2 problems were: 1. The checks review for the state (WI) kept highlighting foreign state/provence but I filled in a US address completely and accurately. I was in an infinite loop and could not get any farther on the option to efile. 2. The software would also not allow me to file the WI return by mail even though our support guy says it is allowed.

Some of your questions are confusing. I am a college graduate and actually had to go back and completely redo my taxes to get rid of your program telling me I needed a form that I did NOT need. I think your initial question about wages paid to officers vs employees was misleading. The officer IS an employee, and your program did not make the designation clear.

Just OK. Mine was a fairly simple return, form 1041. Efile process was a mess. I was finally successful on my 5th try. I kept getting Error: 2. The 5th try was successful because I finally went to the community to see who else was having the same problem. In my case the problem was not the size of the 8453-FE file, since it was less than 1 MB in size. Apparently something in the TT software or efile servers only likes PDFs created by TTax. My first tries were with an 8453 file created by Adobe Acrobat. Failed every time I tried to efile. But when I attached a JPG version of my 8453, TTax converted it to PDF and efile was successful. Go figure.

Mixed experience. Form 1041 worked well enough because the return was simple. Two attempts to efile failed because of an unspecified "server problem". Third try 2 days later was successful, but it took a while so I was holding my breath. Form 1065 for our LLC can be clumsy. Entering basic income/expense is straightforward. Entering asset purchases, sales, and getting proper depreciation numbers can be hit and miss. I struggle with the balance sheet every year. No real help given in the program to figure out what is causing out of balance. In summary, I find TT Business has a much steeper learning curve than does TT Deluxe, for example.

this year I could not get on CD copy and had major problems getting since I do not have internet at my house. I had to go to other places. Also, I have used for several years and have not had problems. Constant problems with locking up my computer. Program stops and lost data. Not very good. I am very disappointed this year.
