This is the first time I have ever purchased stretch jeans and was pleasantly surprised. I ordered by the size chart but needed to go down a size. I am assuming this is because I am petite which affects both the sizing and fit. Obviously they are too long and the rise is higher but that was expected. For the price I will deal with the higher rise and hem them myself. If you are average height and depending on body shape you may or may not need to size down (I'm small waist and larger hip/rear). They are very comfortable and only stretch out slightly while wearing. They washed up without shrinking or excessive fading (wash separately bc they do fade as stated on care instructions). The only functioning pockets are the back ones and the small pocket watch style one on front. Maybe in the future I will splurge on some true petite ones but they are 4x the price.

TL; DR: Consider sizing down! This review is for Lizze, Size 8. I bought these for my mom (5'0", 110 lbs), using the sizing chart provided. Turns out these fit ME, and I'm 5'3" and 133 lbs. SIZING/FIT: Based on the size chart, I should be in Size 12 (waist 32-1/2"), but even the size 8 waist is a wee bit loose. They're shown as high-waist, but they fit best at high hip if I pull them down a titch. The pants skim my hips & thighs without stretching--and FYI, I'm especially blessed in the bum & thigh region--though they do have a nice stretch that's great for moving/squatting. They're definitely comfy, but if you prefer a high-waist, tighter fit, you'll definitely want to size way down. I think I could get the "fit" shown in pics in a size 6. Length: The pics show them as ankle-length, but for me they're just the right length wearing shoes.
