I don't normally buy these products but was appreciative of the opportunity to try this particular one. My laundry literally smelled good all day... even after a smelly day at work... I forgot I was wearing my work clothes! The smell is not too strong, but strong enough to last unlike other brands that seem to fade once you take them from the dryer. Pretty Cool. These smelled fantastic in the pouch, but I was a little skeptical. Would this scent last after doing a load of laundry and would these beads leave any residue behind? Happily, the answers are yes and no. I tossed these in with a load of darks and whites (I tried to use one bag for both loads, but I ended up using most of the beads in the white load). I also added bleach to my whites and when it came out of the washing cycle it had a strong bleach odor and I though that the beads had failed. I couldn't really judge the scent on the dark load as I used so few beads, but I was happy to see that there didn't seem to be any residue on my dark colored clothing. I tossed it all in the dryer and when I went to get my laundry 45 minutes later, I was amazed at the change -- everything smelled wonderful! I had to stop myself from burying my head into my laundry as I was in a shared laundry room. I'm also happy that it's not a fleeting temporary scent -- my bath towel still smells like it came out of the dryer (though the scent may be a little lighter) a week later. I received my Downy Fresh Protect Beads for free to test and review, but all opinions are my own.

I absolutely loved this product! It smells wonderful. I got this product for free through a promo and will definitely be going out to buy it. My clothing has smelled amazing for two weeks so far in my dresser and my room smells fresh as well just from my clothing! I absolutely love this product!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think the Downy Fresh & protect Beads Botanical Mist made my throw blankets smell better than before the dogs claimed them as their own! I was a little upset that my favorite blankets had become my pets favorites too, but the Downy beads eliminated all pet odor and left them smelling amazing. This was super easy. Just throw in the beads with the laundry at the time you start the washer. No waiting for a certain cycle or worrying about putting them directly on the laundry. The beads are totally gone leaving only the great smell by the time you throw them in the dryer! I would highly recommend Downy Fresh and Protect beads. These are perfect for pet owners or parents. We all know how stinky those kids can be!

While I wasn't a huge fan of the scent that was sent to me, the product worked very well and I will buy in the future as long as the price is competitive to my current brand. The Downy oder shield beads mace my blankets that my dogs decided were theirs smell good again! I was about to give up and just buy new blankets but now they don't smell like my dogs but fresh. I received a sampling of the April Fresh pink beads to try in exchange for my honest opinion. I was pleasantly surprised how well these worked yet I was not a fan of how overbearing the scent was It almost gave headache due to the strength of the smell. Plus side was when I washed a load of towels last weekend and my towels were still smell fresh today. I often struggle to get my towels, bedding and workout/yard clothes smelling fresh. This did work, but I am unsure how I feel about the chemicals that are added to make that scent and keep it lingering. I would recommend this, but I may shop around for other options as well.

I'm so used to having to wash his stuff every 3-4 days that I feel like it's a never ending process. It's been a week now and I still can't smell dog. In love!

I used this product for the first time last week. It is super easy to use- you just throw some beads in the washer with your dirty clothes. I was a bit skeptical about the product at first but after I used it on my first load of clothes I was really impressed. It kept my clothes smelling great all day while I wore them!
