This item leaves your clothes and other washables smelling clean and fresh. it is comprised of tiny blue pebble things. They left a nice clean and fresh odor to my things after I took them out of the wash and then I put them in the dryer. I have to say the fresh smell lasted several days, so I suspect this product was the reason. The smell was nice, not overpowering. It has kind of a floral smell. I think it would work best with clothes or towels or sheets that need a little help--things that have some odor on them, especially clothes. I won't say that this item is an absolute must purchase, I think if you use the right detergent, one that is scented, you will get nice smelling clothes out of the wash, but I like this product and would probably buy it in the future. Who doesn't want to smell clean and fresh? Might not use on all my items but with summer coming, it might be good for items that have a sweat odor on them. I tested this product for free but all opinions are mine!

I've been using this brand well before I received a free sample from influenster for testing. And I still love it. The scent isn't too strong but it stays with the linens and clothes for at least a week. I usually wash once a week. So my closet always smells so good.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Included in my free bzzkit from bzzagent was a sample packet of "Downy Fresh Protect Beads." I waited to use these beads for my least favorite smell...urine soaked bedding after my toddler wet his bed. I threw these beads into the load to try out how well these work on tough smells and they did the job! I loved how the bedding came out smelling fresh and clean and with out a hint of urine! On the down side, I thought that for one load of laundry the amount of beads required was quite a lot making me think that a regular size package wouldn't last very long if it was used for every load of laundry. Also I HATED how the beads looked exactly like little blue candies, in my opinion this is dangerous. But based on scent these beads were fantastic!

I really enjoyed using this, my clothes are more fresher because of this. I love the smell, that it gets my clothes cleaner. I love that it doesn't mess with the color of my clothes, or destroy them in anyway. The freshness last really long, and that is a plus for me. I highly recommend that you add this to your clothes, its the best. I tested these Downy Protected Beads free, and these opinions are my own.

I used the downy odor shield on my kids smelly sports clothes. I absolutely loved how after the wash they didn't have that musky smell. This product was easy to use and able to use with my he washer, which is a must. You just throw in the contents of the pouch and start the wash. I would definitely recommend. I received this product for free to try out from influenster. I must say this was the best addition to my laundry routine. I didn't even use a whole pack per load as the instructions said but my close smell fresher than ever. Even clothes that I have worn and in my laundry hamper now waiting to be washed smell as if they just came out the dryer. I am definitely purchasing this item and adding it to my laundry routine

So for quite awhile I was using these in my front loading washer. If I didn't, i found that some of my loads came out not smelling so great. On the downside is that they do leave a little waxy residue after time, and you are adding chemicals to your clothes. One of my family members started having skin reactions so i had to discontinue. I loved the scent of my clothes tho after being washed, and I miss that.

I loved the product! The product actually stayed around and lingered on my clothes unlike other items I've used in the past. The fragrance isn't over powerful at all which is another great thing I loved! I tested Downy Fresh Protect Beads for free, but this is my own opinion.

So I was cautious about trying these because I have an asthmatic son. I was pleasantly surprised though. The scent left is so soft and very subtle. He had no issues with it at all and it just smells divine. I love the fact that this also contains odor guard as I have teen boys who no matter how much deodorant they use end up smelly by the end of basketball practice. I love the smell of laundry and using this with my laundry just made my laundry 10 times more amazing. The smell of it and it lasts for weeks. I used it mostly on my towels and blankets to see how long it would last. Man, so far with this week every time I open my towel closet it smells like fresh laundry and spring.
