Its easy to use, just toss in the washer and continue your wash. There's no residual left over on your clothing, or linens, and my clothes smell absolutely amazing. You can tell the difference when you use these beads in the washer. The clothes smell so fresh - not mildew like. I tested this product for free, but the review is my own opinions. They are a great scent addition to any laundry where you want a floral scent. It is not overpowering, but adds a nice little something when you want your clothes to come out smelling fresh.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The product was very easy to use. Very strong scent when I took the clothes out of the washer, scent wasn't as strong out of the dryer. The scent on the clothes while you were wearing them, almost made me feel like there was soap residue leftover... I didn't care for it.

I was really excited to get this product for free for reviewing purposes in my Influenster box, especially since I have been considering purchasing this product anyway. I threw a pack in my laundry and let it do its work. Upon taking my laundry out to move it to the dryer, I noticed that I could hardly smell the scent the beads were supposed to leave behind. There may have been a trace of it, but not the smell I had been wanting. I didn't want an overpowering smell to my clothes, just enough to signify that they were clean. However, this product didn't deliver the experience I was expecting. I would probably consider purchasing a bottle just to try again, but if that did not work I probably would try another brand or not purchase again.

My family and I are pretty active and are constantly trying to find products that helps our clothes to remain fresh and smelling great. I must say that after trying the Downy Fresh Protect April Fresh In-Wash Odor Shield I was highly impressed. The scent of the beads reminded me of running through a field of flowers and was very soft and refreshing. After a couple of days I even noticed that our clothes still smelt fresh. The Downy was super easy to use, you simply pop them into the laundry and then start the cycle. Packaging has nice spring colors on it. This item leaves your clothes and other washables smelling clean and fresh. it is comprised of tiny blue pebble things. They left a nice clean and fresh odor to my things after I took them out of the wash and then I put them in the dryer. I have to say the fresh smell lasted several days, so I suspect this product was the reason. The smell was nice, not overpowering. It has kind of a floral smell. I think it would work best with clothes or towels or sheets that need a little help--things that have some odor on them, especially clothes. I won't say that this item is an absolute must purchase, I think if you use the right detergent, one that is scented, you will get nice smelling clothes out of the wash, but I like this product and would probably buy it in the future. Who doesn't want to smell clean and fresh? Might not use on all my items but with summer coming, it might be good for items that have a sweat odor on them. **Got this for free but all the opinions are my own. I try to be completely honest so nobody ends up with a bad product. Downy Fresh Protect really helped my clothes smell fresher for longer. The product has Febreze in it too so it's kind of like a double whammy of freshness. It's perfect to have during these hot summer months since it helps keep whatever you wear smelling way better. The reason I only gave this 4 stars instead of 5 is because it's a fairly strong scent. So if you're sensitive to smells or are constantly around someone who has a sensitive nose to smells, you'll wanna steer clear.

I love smelling good but I have trouble with strong scented perfumes causing me headaches. I am absolutely delighted to have finally found my solution. Anything I wash with this product will pretty much smell amazing and make me smell amazing! Better yet it is subtle enough for others to notice but not so strong and in your face. Will definitely continue to use this product and look forward to hopefully more scents to choose from!
