I like this sauce first and foremost because it is an healthy alternative to the competitors. It's also delicious. It really only takes 15 minutes of simmering your meat to absorb the sauce, but great to use as a marinade before cooking as well for an even better experience.

Today I tried Pataks Butter Chicken Simmer Sauce for the very first time. I like the fact that it was very simple to prepare just by adding chicken to it and letting it simmer until the chicken was done. I prepared a side of rice as the sauce and chicken cooked. Once the simmer sauce was done, I added the rice on the side. Upon tasting the sauce, it was very tasty and enjoyable. I was just amazed at how quick and easy it was to make this wonderful entree.

I followed exactly the directions on the bottle. It turned out really good. The sauce in perfect consistency. I love it made in mild, my kids can eat it and if I want more spicy , then I can add on whatever spicy sauce I want. The flavor is rich but never goes too salty.

Does not taste authentic

This was very mediocre, and worse, had an off flavor I just couldn't place. I've made butter chicken curry from scratch and it's really pretty easy to make, but I wanted to try this for convenience. Bottom line is I wouldn't buy this again. Member's Mark Indian Butter Chicken 32 oz. is better tasting, and so is Trader Joe's. I might try a jarred butter chicken curry again, but wouldn't buy this brand again. All of the things I actually like about butter chicken were missing here. If there was any butter or ghee in this, I couldn't detect it. Same with the classic garam masala. This had spices, but not the right spices. It was butter chicken in name only, and it kept bugging me that I couldn't place the off flavor I kept detecting with every bite. You can do better with just about any other product labeled "butter chicken." This has no reason for existence.
