Great, except for its sounds

It's well built, cooks more or less as expected, fan works properly. The light underneath could be a bit brighter, thuogh I'm guessing I could replace it with a brighter bulb. But the thing that really bugs me is the beep/tone. I had read that a user could turn the sound on and off via the mobile app... which is true as far as it goes. I guess I had imagined that as long as they were going that far that perhaps they would provide a full feature by allowing users to CHANGE the tone, or set it to NOT REPEAT itself every 30 seconds on cook, but to repeat for the timer. Those are the types of things they could have so easily done yet frustrate me almost every time I use the microwave.

Great Look

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I did buy the microwave about a month ago. I didn't think I really needed it. I was doing fine since my stopped working -- I thought. Amazingly I like the microwave so much. I am finding it easy to use and so easy to clean.

Hard to see controls

So far we are happy with this purchase. This is our second LG microwave of this type as the previous one only lasted 7 years. One comment that is a disappointment in this model is that the keypad characters are not very obvious or readable. Perhaps the keypad should be illuminated or printed with brighter printing.

Great looks and performance

Wish I had known

First, let me explain the 1-star, as it was a 4-star for the first 8 years we had this model. (The dim interior light was annoying.) We purchased this microwave in 2016, and the magnetron recently bellied up. Everything else works except it doesn't heat food anymore. At first we discussed repair vs. replace, but now we've decided to replace it with a good range hood like we had before and go back to a small or midsize countertop oven of some kind. If you're wondering why, its because even though it was vented, the fan was not as strong as the old range hood, so it didn't take much to set the smoke detector off. Also, the surrounding cabinets have required lots more cleaning to stay on top of the accumulating cooking grease. I would have liked to have known about these 2 cons to consider before purchasing this style microwave.

How Sam's and LG ruined Thanksgiving

Three weeks ago, I called both Sam's Club and LG to confirm that this appliance would be delivered before Thanksgiving. Both promised that it would. They missed the first delivery date with no notice. I called and was promised the following Monday. Monday came and went, no delivery, no notice. On my next call, they promised the Monday AFTER Thanksgiving. I'm quite sure they'll miss that date, too. Sam's and LG lied to get a sale, ruining Thanksgiving for my family. Now I have to end a 23-year Sam's membership that I was otherwise happy with. Lies for profit are non-recoverable.

Nice looking and Quality product!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very nice product! The over the stove microwave by LG completed my new kitchen design along with my LG refrigerator and Electric stove. I choose the "Thin Q" line by LG and can program into my phone . My Thin Q over the range microwave is 1000 watts with plenty of power to cook and reheat. The style and design is sleek and classy. It features many reheat and cooking selections and I am really pleased with my purchase. I use to by the competitors brand but 100% love LG products. No more "other" brands, it's LG for me from now on!!!

Two observed shortcomings.

Looks good but disappointing to use

Pro's: modern sleek look, cooks well, several presets, easy to use. Cons: 1) touch screen is not backlit, 2) noisy fan turns on automatically when I use the microwave, according to user manual it is only supposed to turn on automatically when it senses heat below from a burner. 3) no way to turn off the melody sounds. 4) cannot connect to thinq app even though I followed all directions.
