Not suitable for performance cars

I bought it one week ago and replaced Dunlop Winter Maxx on my WRX manual. They are comfortable as all Michelin tires but not suitable for performance cars such as WRX. The steering and braking are so vague, I cannot feel the feedback from the road. The response when I steer has a significant lag that let me feel like driving a boat. If they are on SUVs they would be fine.

Even better than the X-Ice

I previously had X-Ice tires on my VW Rabbit. They were really good tires but the X-Ice Snow are even better! The X-Ice Snow gripped icy roads a little better than the X-Ice but the snow traction was vastly better. I recommend them whenever anyone talks about winter tires.

Works well in Alaska

After purchasing these tires for the Alaskan winter, I am very pleased. First off, the tires are very quiet, and there is no noticeable power loss from my all seasons. The tread pattern also handles slush with ease. I have made several drives along the Alcan and the numbered roads in Alaska and I can say I prefer a snow and ice covered highway with these tires than dry tarmac because the former is more smooth, and these tires have great grip on ice. I also have driven in 4 and 5 inch snow on the road and I had no trouble with grip, once again the tread pattern works wonders. Too be fair this is the only set of dedicated snow tires I've ever owned, but I will not hesitate to buy these again.

Don’t get X-Ice winters if you’re a performance car enthusiast

After having owned several generations of the Pilot Sport Alpin, my tire dealer only had the X-Ice Snows available this time. They’re great in the snow and wet, but REALLY annoying in dry handling, in that they make a lot of noise above maybe 0.3g. The Alpins NEVER exhibited this characteristic….

Good and durable

I had two sets of x ice snow suv for my Range Rover and Tesla model x plaid. Range Rover is heavy and the tires do good in winter. Tesla has over 1000 lb ft of torque had one time slippered on the road bump in the snow road. Overall I only use this brand and this series. I think other brand is either too thick or too thin.

Pricey, but worth it

I bought this type of Michelin X-ice snow for my wife's nissan rogue and had nothing but success with them. My wife had the confidence to drive in the winter without worrying about pothole damage, slipping, or getting stuck. A solid well built tire. I then bought a set for my C300 and they drive very well. Solid and great grip on wet, cold, and snow-covered roads. The tires for my c300 were pricey, but worth it as they are a quality tire that holds up to wear.

Too much lateral sway

I purchased a set of X ice snow about a month Complaint is that there is a lot of lateral movement/sway in quick response It seems as to the point of being dangerous and unstable at high speeds. As far as Strait lines stability in very bad weather, the tires do function as advertised. I have also tried increasing tire pressure by 3 pounds of pressure all around and no successful results.

Impressive tire

Use them for a winter season on a Tesla Mode 3 RWD. I am used to the X-Ice on a different car. They improved the traction on snow vs X-Ice significantly and the grip on ice is still very good. I noticed a bit tire noise between 50-70kmh (specially with an EV car) but they are impressively quiet at highway speed.

Makes Snow Driving Fun!

Handles snow and slush with incredible ease. I traveled on some nasty roads here in Michigan recently and never worried for my safety or had issues with traction. It was actually kind of fun… Tires are pretty quiet too even on dry roads, which is a nice bonus. However, ice is still ice and there is only so much a tire can do. They certainly have more traction on ice than all-seasons, but the difference isn’t as noticeable.

Always bought X-Ice tire and still not dissapointed

I've always loved the X-Ice tires from Michelin. All my cars and trucks have had them. The traction is phenomenal and they are so quiet. I never look forward to putting my summer tires on as they are noisier compared to these. They usually last me 4 years and I usually give them to my family as they are still great for lighter use. I do approximatetely 60k a year. About 30k on winter and 30k on summer.
