Bought for a trip to Europe. The luggage held up great . Light weight and easy to roll. The only thing I don't like is the carry on doesn't expand.

The luggage has the look of quality. I like the combination lock and the TSA approved key entry. We like the grey color and the expandible feature. The luggage is lightweight for the size of the pieces. The main reason I chose this set is that the dimensions are the exact size requirements for the airlines shipping and carryon pieces. I have not used them yet so I cannot comment on the durability of the luggage.

Only used once so far....

I took my first flight through Delta, and I used both the carry-on and checked luggage, and they both made it back fine round-trip! It was easy for me to stack the carry-on one on top of the larger checked luggage to move them around the airport and hotel. They look great, have nice compartments, cool TSA-lock zippers, and roll easily across different surfaces. Would easily recommend, especially for beginner travelers and if you can catch it on sale!

This luggage is sleek and sturdy. The hard cover is nice for airport check ins and the inside is spacious. Such a great deal for a 2 piece set. These will last years!

Great set of luggage. Highly recommend. Survived first trip and they still look perfect. LOVE the baggage hook on the large suitcase. Perfect for hauling backpacks through the airport. Only thing I don't like is small suitcase does not expand which is why I rated it 4 out of 5 stars.

Samsonite is an old and well known brand in the luggage world. Their quality speaks for itself. The problem is nothing to do with any luggage brand, it is the rough handling of the luggage at airports. It is too much money to pay for luggage since after one trip and it's somehow damaged and lost it's value.

Caveat emptor: The 10-year warranty that Samsonite promotes on the box excludes damage to the polycarbonate exterior shell. I just got off the phone with Samsonite and found this out. I did not purchase this particular item, but the SAMSONITE 2PC HS SET VOLANTE HARDSIDE, which I believe is the predecessor to this one (but it doesn't exist on the Sam's Club site and so I can't review that one). I bought it in late May 2023, and today in early November 2024, the exterior shell for the smaller carry-on bag cracked. Their argument is that cracks to the exterior shell are not a defect. However, if they used defective materials or a substandard manufacturing process, how is this not a defect? Perhaps that's why this particular model doesn't exist anywhere any more, not even on Samsonite's website nor in the drop-down options for filing a repair request (warranty claim). Otherwise, it's fine. It rolls very easily, the handle works well enough, and it's relatively lightweight. My favorite feature is probably the built in combo lock on the larger bag. I just don't like the idea of a bag lasting less than a year and a half, especially since Samsonite makes a big deal about the 10-year warranty. It reminds me of the reference to slapping warranties on the sides of boxes from the movie Tommy Boy, if you've seen it. :) Just wanted to let folks know before they base buying decisions on the warranty (purportedly) offered (like I used to until just now).
