Customer reviews for BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 - LT315/70R17/C 113S Tire forBest of the best
I put these tires on my Ford explorer sport, and if I ever obtain a Maserati I would put them on that also... Can hit a 90 degree corner on asphault going 40 and never hear a squeak. They also last a long time, treadwall doesn't split, and you definitely feel safe, secure and stable riding on them in any weather condition. Cheers.
Thanks for the awesome review, Caliklutch. BFGoodrich customers ROCK!
So far amazing
Bought these for my '08 f150 4x4 for regular city use and off roading during deer season. They look great, are quiet (not sure what was wrong with the negative sound people), and handle amazing. They grab everything and grip it like a monkey on a banana. I will update this post after I test them out next weekend deer hunting.
Gold Standard
The T/A KO2's are the absolute gold standard in light truck tires ! Not only in performance, but in styling and in the "wow" factor as noted when other truck guys check them out. Grip wet and snowy roads like bear claws. Highway ride is smooth too. There's two things in life you don't skimp on, work boots and truck tires. Get these and you're halfway there.
On the Rocks in Moab
I put a set of K02 37X12.50R17 124R D tires on my Jeep JKU and have used them for almost 6 months now and am thrilled with their performance both on the road and on the rocks in Moab. I drove from Houston Texas to Moab Utah for some crawling and the first thing I noticed was just how quiet they are on the highway! I was expecting them to be loud but not at all. I don’t do any mudding but I did drive down LaSalle Pass in late October and the trail was wet and partly snow covered. A week later I was driving up Goose Creek Trail #65 up to Goose Creek in the Carson National Forest and this time the trail was wetter up to about 9,500’ elevation where it turned to snow. We continued on no problem, with the exception of one thick ice patch which was no big deal but the higher I climbed it started snowing. By the time I got to 10,500’ I was in a full on blizzard and the trail was becoming difficult to see. The tires never slipped once besides that one patch of ice but not being prepared for cold weather thought it prudent to turn back. I don’t have experience with another tire so can’t compare performance but I’m happy with how these tires have performed so far.
Poor tires
I had a set of all terrains years ago and they were great so I bought the new KO2 knowing I couldn’t go wrong but I did I’m very disappointed with these tires 14K miles and they are shot I rotated them once definitely will not be buying another set. 2006 2500HD Duramax
We understand the All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires on your 2006 2500 HD Duramax did not meet your expectation in terms of mileage. A member of our Consumer Care team will be in contact with you. You may also reach our office at 1-866-866-6605.
exceeded expectations
These tires are beyond amazing. I drive a 2004 Ford Ranger 4x4 and i had the biggest problems with the Wal-Mart brand tires that came on the truck. I would lose traction simply on wet pavement and the tires were only half worn. I got so sick of it all that I upgraded to the new BFG KO2's. The difference was day and night. Immediately post install, I decided to break the tires in what they were ment for. I headed out to the gravel roads that I traveled before because I knew my truck had traction problems there before. Stop/Start test and flying around corners felt like I was still on blacktop, then I decided to hit the mud hole. These tires exceeded my expectations in the mud. I never had to put the truck in 4wd! I could'nt believe it! Some people say that these tires are noisy but me and a friend who also installed them on his 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 both agree that they're not noisy at all. As long as these tires are available, I will still purchase them. The only thing I can complain about is that I think my truck is working harder to turn the wheels over thus resulting in decreased fuel efficiency but I also installed them on aftermarket steel wheels instead of the original alloys adding 25lbs a wheel. The old tires were also LRC and these new BFG's are LRE so I'm estimating that i added 200lbs of wheels and tires to my truck.
So Far - Very Good!
We put the new BFG KO2's in a 265/70 R17C (6ply) configuration on our stock 2003 Toyota 4Runner 4.7L v8 4x4 with 17" stock alloy's and have run them for just about 3500 miles running at 50 psi and have been very pleased with them so far. The size is a slight up-tic from the stock tire, but is the size recommended via a call to Michelain's customer support help-line. The clearance in the front wheel well when the tire is turned hard right or left leaves about and inch against the interior well trimming. We have not had any rubbing or collection of debris trapping therein. We chose the C class feeling it would be a good compromise given the GVW of the V8 4runner and our intended use and all-around passenger comfort as opposed to the E class 8Ply configuration. We bought the 03 4.7L V8 4x4 (108K miles) because we wanted an old school rig we could go into the hills with and not worry about putting some Colorado pinstripes on while four-wheeling through tight tree lined tracks, tow a trailer if needed and run the interstate to Denver from our home in South-Central Colorado. So Far - Very Good! Both the Rig and the Tires. We've never enjoyed, or been impressed as much with a vehicle as much as this old V8 4Runner and the BFG KO2's have simply improved the vehicle which previously had a set of Michelin all-season radials. I was very concerned about road noise with the KO2's, but decided that we were going all in for them in that we wanted a tire that would serve better, the purpose for which we'd bought the rig. These tires are amazingly quiet! And I'm terribly picky and sensitive to road noise. In my opinion their noise increase over the all-season Michelins is so minimal as not to be noteworthy. As for performance, in November we took them for a spin up the rough and rocky 4X4 track which leads to Balman Reservoir and Rainbow lake in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. We aired down to about 30 psi and were very pleased in that we weren't getting beat up by the 6ply's - this is a rough and very rocky road and the tires performed very well in dry, steep and steep track with loose gravel-scree and dirt. At higher elevation we ran into snow (perhaps 3" to start) and the tires did a great job their too. The only slippage was as we climbed in steep turning pitches where the rear end would slip a few inches out to the downhill side. Mostly due to the tracking of the trail itself. We stopped and turned back due to good sense and an extreme narrowing of the trail with a precipice on the right-hand downhill side of the track. The tires were willing; we on the other hand decided that in the fading light of day, good judgment and not the voice of the KO2's saying go for it was best. Also, upon returning to lower elevation and groomed dirt and pavement we did not observe and tire damage nor did the tread retain and gravel or rocks of any significance. - So Far- Very Good! On the highway we have enjoyed a confidant ride that does not pull or cause the vehicle to behave any differently than when we'd previously driven it on the all-season Michelins, a great tire for what they are designed to do -. As for fuel economy, if their is a negative it is negligible in that we've not noted any loss of merit in our mileage per tank - So Far - Very Good! As for paved roads and snow and ice, just last week on Saturday afternoon we happened to be obligated to drive in conditions that one would otherwise be advised to stay home and read about such adventures by a warm fire. It was Saturday, December 12th, the condition were snow, packing snow and straight-up skating rink (I've got 20 sliding, crash, ding and dent photo's to prove it!) You know, the footage you've seen scenes like it on the evening news people sliding while simply setting still - yah that stuff! The BFG KO2's were fantastic! I did put the 4runner in H-4 (four-wheel drive and but with the exception of those hard right or left turns in a tight circumference radius turn where the rear-end would give a bit of side-slip out and then recover, they instilled confidence and proved themselves a tire that, I will, without hesitation buy again and highly recommend to others.I gave the tires a 4-Star rating here as opposed to a 5 only in that we have not had them long enough to determine rubber compound longevity, overall durability and/or tread-live etc.,. All said, if you're thinking about a new All-Terrain or Snow Tire go buy BFGoodrich's All-Terrain KO2's, they will not disappoint.
Good tread life
I have had a set of these tires on a full size truck for the last 80k miles. They have performed very well on the street and good on the fire roads and light snow. I recommend them for a 4x4 that is used for general purpose . As far as something aggressive I could not be sure. Hope this helps.
Great Snow Tire
I purchased these tires to drive to work as essential personal that doesn’t get snow days off despite harsh snow and winter conditions. When 18 inches of snow hit these tires did not disappoint. My six inch lifted 4x4 2003 Chevy Silverado LT 1500 extended cab drove almost like a normal commute day. Gas mileage wasn’t great…but then that’s not what these tires were made for. Five stars.
Very Happy Customer
Purchased this tire three times. First set purchased on a 03 Silverado 2500HD 4x4- nicely balanced, great in snow and water, and stayed that way for the first 15,000 before I sold that truck. I just put a set on my son’s Silverado 1500 4x4 about a month ago, and I just purchased a set to go on my 16 Silverado 3500HD CCLB. I made the decision to purchase these before heading out on a trip between Georgia and Virginia during the wicked snow storm last week (early Dec 18) and couldn’t have been more pleased. The tires have consistently been well-balanced on all these trucks and super pleased the with wet and snow traction they offer.
Brad03, so glad to hear of your great experience with our KO2 tires. We appreciate your loyalty.
