Dual Fuel

My wife gave this to me as a surprise Christmas gift, although I had to order it myself. :) The generator she had originally picked out was not available, so I picked this one because of the Westinghouse brand and the fact it's dual fuel. I'm the envy of my neighbor across the street!

Great unit with lots of features - a bit noiser

I really like my first ever generator - WGen3600DF. I knew it would be a bit nosier but for my planned usage of as a backup power, in case of power outage at my house, should be just fine. Unit came with a cool remote to start and stop, wirelessly. There is a strip down version of this generator but I think extra features are worth getting as one doesn't buy generator very often. I am writing this review as I may get a promotional item; however, by review is from a pure customer perspective.

Simple set up.

I've never owned a generator and am not knowledgable of engines at all. But the manual was clear and the setup was easy. The only issue I had was the battery was connected to the terminals, but there was a plug that had to be attached . It took me a while to find it since it wasn't mentioned in the manual. But that was the only issue I had.

Just what I needed!

The Westinghouse appeared to be my best option in the size/price range, all things considered. I don't need a full on pad mount with a transfer switch at the electrical service panel, but I did want something which could temporarily run a fan or small portable heater, TV and keep food cold in the fridge. The Dual fuel option is another nice touch. Well built and priced right!

A 30amp RV ready dual fuel generator

I love my Westinghouse generator , I was seeking a 30 amp generator that didn't require gasoline… Bam! I found this fine and dandy beauty at HD online. Easy to follow English instructions I was able to set up in under an hr and has been running my travel trailer for hours off a low tank of propane!

Easy to put together and get started!

This is the first generator I have purchased and I was a little nervous since I did not have any experience with generators before. I am happy to say it was easy to put the wheels on and follow the directions to get started. Would definitely recommend for a first-timer.

Great Product

I bought this generator after a recent five hour power outage. My wife is unable to operate a pull-start generator. This model has a push button start and a remote starter. It started up right out of the box. It also has a dual fuel option - gasoline or propane. Great generator at a great price.

Great so far!

I just put this together and tested it out with a room heater. Assembly was slightly different than the user manual stated and they gave extra tools. First, the mounting feet holes were close to the radius of structure so it made a little rough tightening all the way snug (no problem for an impact driver). Second, the manual has you following wires to tighten up all the battery connections, mine came all connected and all that was needed to be done was a quick-disconnect at the battery which is not mentioned. Still make sure all connections are tight. Last, it comes with a double sided open ended wrench and a long socket with a removable torqueing bar. I didnt find a use for the socket, unless it is for changing the oil and I didn't need it yet and the manual does not mention it. On first start, and probably every cold start, the choke is not mentioned in the starting process but is necessary. It is located on the opposite side of the control panel and labeled with a lever underneath. It took me a few failed starts to find it then it fired right up.

ok

Generator seems to work ok. started ok. Ran it and used it for a while to break in. When tried to start again took several hard pulls to get going. Hope it starts after setting a while. The oil fill port is hard to reach, have to get on knees and crouch underneath which will be a pain when using generator in snow/rain/ power outage which is likely scenario for use. Would be impossible to fill without the specially designed crooked funnel, so hope I don't lose that...where do I store the special generator oil funnel to remember where it is?? It comes with strange metal "shipping brackets" that have to be removed. They were mounted with very tight hard to reach bolts that stripped when using the tiny supplied wrench. Had to get out ratchet set and ratchet extension bar to get them off. Curses. That took longer than all the other assembly startup. As always, engineers should uncrate and assemble at least 20 of their own product using only the supplied instructions verbatim and not their own acquired intuition of the product.

Looking good

Despite what I have read about some gens arriving damaged for lack of solid packing, this generator arrived in perfect shape. Instructions clear and comprehensive. Everything working as it should in break-in dry runs. Now I have to wait for the next neighborhood power outage for the proof of the pudding. I also like that I can switch on the fly from gasoline to propane, meaning the bottle that feeds my gas grill can become a backup fuel source in an emergency. Bought this small generator as backup for basics like well, heat and fridge.
