Nice Smooth Cab At a Good Price

We enjoy a nice, smooth Cabernet Sauvignon and when I noticed this MM Reserve bottle at our local Sam’s Club for about $20 I bought a couple bottles to test. We paired it with a great Flank Steak and the combination was awesome! It was rich, velvety and smooth right out of the bottle and aerated. If you’re looking for a really nice Cab at a great price I highly recommend trying this one!

First class Cabernet Sauvignon.

As delicious as other upscale Cab’s. This is the real deal. Buy all you can.

Best Member's Mark Cabernet

A sleeper, great wine for the price. Needs a bit of time to open up, better than the Oakville and Alexander valley wines from Member's Mark, in my opinion. I bought 5 more... LOL

Trust the MM label; was worth the ~18$ price

I purchased this wine solely because I trust the Members Mark (MM) brand. Therefore, I had a gut feeling that it would certainly taste better than the last label that I picked blindly called the "Educated Guess" (see the irony??). Sure enough, this was a much better wine. However, it tasted rather "young"; perhaps one which needed to spend a bit more time with its oak planks. This fact is borne out by various factors. I have a pretty well developed palette tuned over several years of "real" wine tasting (sponsored by a famous importer). As such my senses didn't pick up any of the flavor notes or bouquet printed on the label which seemed like an alphabet soup of tasting notes. Here's what I experienced (there are many factors but this is good enough to judge whether I would want to buy it [again] or not): Color: Dark ruby with no variation (as expected for a young wine '21 vintage) Viscosity: No legs (or tears) which tells me that it's a low ABV and/or perhaps high Brix Nose: fairly fruity with notes of black cherries, chocolate, and a hint of spice Taste: Medium sweet, not very tannic ending with a medium finish and a bit of astringence Cellaring potential: Low Pairing: Enjoy with a burger, meatloaf, beef stew, It should be noted that everyone's senses are different and it's possible that I didn't pick up on other flavors or nose; or that I sensed different ones. To conclude, I thought this was a very simple but refreshing wine. I might buy this wine again even if only to sip while snacking on cheese and crackers. I'd have given it another star if it had a just bit more character and complexity. I look forward to seeing more MM wines in various price and quality points.
