Bed arrived today in 3 boxes. Even before it was brought into the house, the delivery driver said he wanted to take pictures of the boxes as there was significant damage to them. He stated it was like this when he picked it up from the warehouse. He even handed us a red bag of hardware that was supposed to be inside one of the boxes, but had fallen out through one of the holes.
As we started unpacking the boxes, there was so much damage we couldn't believe it. I snapped 37 pictures and a few videos but will only upload a few. There were dents in the wood, scrapes, gouges, peeling veneer, broken handles. Just terrible.
After paying over $1000 for this bed, we certainly were not going to keep it in this condition. We immediately called Sam's Club and spoke to Customer Service. After we explained everything that occurred, the Representative said he could 1.) issue a refund 2.) order a replacement, or 3.) knock off $100 if we agreed to keep it. So our options are to 1.) wait 5-7 days for our money back 2.) keep our money and they will send a replacement (which would mean another week+ until we have a different bed delivered, that could likely come just as damaged as this one) or 3.) keep this bed and get $100.
$100 wouldn't even begin to cover the stain, wood filler, time and labor involved to fix the damage....frankly, as an insult to be offered $100...
Beware! As we were told by the Customer Service Representative, we have to wait 5-7 days to get our refund back. Very inconvenient since we are out over $1000 and now have no bed to sleep on. Guess it's going to be the couch for us for the next couple of weeks until we get our money back and order a bed from somewhere else.
Avoid this bed and go somewhere else to order one!
