Tempermental Speaker

Cheaply made but great sound if it works

Unit continues to shut down. Every 15 to 30 minutes. Has done it since day one. It's annoying to have to constantly get out of the pool or stop whatever you're doing to turn it back on non stop. It doesn't do it just once. It does it continually. Now after only 7 months of barely using it, it produces no sound whatsoever and of course it's out of the 90 day warranty. Wasted 170 dollars.

These products have an Eco mode that causes them to shut down after 20 minutes if no music is being played through the speaker (sometimes this can occur from the source volume being too low, or if you are only using the microphone input). It should still be able to produce sound however. Worked much better than my home theater speakers.

First of all I didn't have any issues with the speaker turning off every 20 minutes. I bought it on Friday, Unpacked it in the afternoon, connected my amazon alexa through bluetooth for a couple of hours ( no issues), then switched it to aux input for another 6 hours for a karaoke night, I have a separate 4-channel wireless microphone system connected to a 6 channel mixer where I had connected the 4 microphones each to one channel and channel 5/6 to the TV stereo digital audio output. all of that mixed to one output to this ION speaker. sound was very good and loud, the volume is more than we could handle indoors. The previous time we tried a karaoke night with our own home theater the voices coming from the microphones were distorted probably due to the small speakers. This speaker really made a big difference.

Mostly happy with it

I bought this to practice karaoke. The mic that comes with it sucks. Just toss it. I ended up getting a mid priced mics and cables from a local music store and much better now. We use the Kara fun app for back track and sing for hours. I have hosted small parts as well. The only time it shuts iff is after it has not been in use for a while. I only know this because I forget yo turn it off at the back. I have not had it shut down on me while in use. We have 2 mics and both work fine together as well. Just the ine that comes with it is crap and is why I cave it 4 starts.

Good Value for what you get BUT shuts down

After reading all the reviews, it seems like most of us experienced the speaker shutting down frequently. I experienced the same, and thought it was unique to my unit, but it appears it's most I bought it 2/11 and returned same day due to the mentioned. I hope it's just a LOT of them that were defective. Not all of them because it was good value.

GO DJ, THAT'S MY DJ

Awesome sound and great value for the money, however I recommend not moving it around too much for transport or travel. This speaker is really great to use around the house for parties and gathering also my grandkids love the mic "let it go, let it go"

Hi Katisha, ION support here! The Ion Audio Total PA Live will enter an energy-saving mode after 15 minutes unless an audio signal is detected and playing. When the unit enters this energy-saving mode, the display and lights will turn off and audio playback will be disabled, but the unit will still be powered on. To resume normal use and disable the energy-saving mode, simply turn a knob or press a button on the unit. Once it is awakened, the lights and display will turn on and audio playback can resume. Waste of money!

I purchased this speaker yesterday and it constantly cuts off while playing music! Very annoying! Will definitely be returning!

Hello! The Total PA is equipped with an automatic power shut-off to save energy in compliance with the energy efficiency regulations for compact audio products. Total PA will enter an energy-saving mode after 20 minutes unless an audio signal at a moderate level is detected from the XLR Input, the Aux Input, the USB/SD media player,the Radio, or a Bluetooth connection. In energy-saving mode, the display and lights will turn off and audio playback will be disabled, but the unit will remain powered on in standby.To resume normal operation, simply turn a knob or press a button on the unit or remote control. To prevent automatic shut-off, an audio signal should remain active at a moderate volume level from the XLR Input, the Aux Input, the USB/SD media player, the Radio, or a Bluetooth connection. We recommend setting audio source (i.e., Aux Input or Bluetooth) volume at max and the Master Volume to 5 or higher to prevent shut-off.

turns OFF

Randomly turns off after 10-15 min of playing will be returning it I thought it was my phone or something but nope it keeps on shutting down

Good speaker for the money

It's a very good speaker for the money and easy to connect two of them together. Not a professional sound like some of the higher-end active pa speakers with digital amps, but still decent.
