The odor you're experiencing is caused by decomposing natural material and is non toxic.For use of Miracle-Gro® Moisture Control® Potting Mix outside (garden, soils, topsoil): Once material is opened and spread, odor will dissipate on its own in 24-48 hours.For indoor use (potting mix): Add 1 tsp of vanilla extract to a quart of water. Use mixture when watering plants.This will help to mask the odor, help neutralize any odor, and will not harm plants.
