Terrific Tires

We replaced the Original Equipment Michelin Tires on my 2013 Camry with Michelin Defender T+H BSW Tires. These are providing good traction, a quite ride and comfort. We have equipped our cars with Michelin Tires for many years and have always gotten more than expected.

EXTREMELY QUIET RIDING ALL-SEASON TIRES

I purchased set of four Defender T+H A-S tires 3 years ago at my Mercury dealership. I get tires rotated (front-to-rear/same side) annually. Since I only drive about 5,000 miles per year on my 2006 Mercury Grand Marquis car, these Michelin tires will last me a long time past the 6-years factory warranty. I get all four tires balanced every 2 years, and keep my tire pressure set at 37psi on all four tires filled with NITROGEN. I do 60% local driving and 40% high-speed turnpike driving and these great Michelin Defender T+H tires have never let me down. Matter-of-fact, I have only purchased Michelin tires since owning my 1989 Ford Crown Victoria S/Wgn. Michelin wrote the book for radial tires; therefore you can't go wrong buying them. This is the 2nd set of Michelin tires on my 2006 Mercury Grand Marquis having slightly less than 70,000 miles on the vehicle.

The best tires you can buy for light SUV

Due to Covid the miles I am driving are severely reduced but I just did 800 Miles on a run from Chester PA to Boston and back in 2 days. I had a set of four fitted to my 2013 Volvo XC60 and chose to pay more than the Goodyear which was my second choice. Michelens ruin quiet, give excellent traction in both rain and snow.

Horrible Ride

I had my Michelin Premier Tires replaced at a dealership as they told me they were leaking from the bead. I was appalled as they were only 4 years old with few miles. They were replaced by Michelin Defenders. The ride is absolutely horrible. The car shakes and jolts me over every little bump and crevice in the road. I had them checked after 5 weeks and they stated that everything looked good for the year and state of the car. The suspension also looks good, so I do not understand the horrible ride. My vehicle has always been well maintained and I always have had routine maintenance done.

Madison 853, thanks for providing your feedback. Remember, the Michelin Promise Plan includes a 60 day Satisfaction Guarantee. Simply return to the selling retailer to have the tires swapped out.

Quiet, Ride Well, but Tread Depth Lost Quickly

I bought four for my 1997 Toyota Camry four years ago. After 22,000 miles. tire shop told me the interior walls were disintegrating, exposing steel cords, and would not let me drive away with the tire because of liability fears if tire collapsed/exploded. Also, tread was down to 4/32 (should be 7/32 to 9/32 after 22,000 miles), and inner and outer surfaces of tire were without tread. Both front tires were in this state. Not what I expected with a 90,000 -miles-warranty tire. Always keep tires inflated 32-35 psi. Tire shop thought these results were due to manufacturing defect. I see tires were made in Mexico. Purchased them in July 2016. Warranty offer was for 49% coverage, but Defender is no longer available in 14" diameter, so only warranty option was an inferior Uni-Royal tire, a company owned by Michelin. Pretty disappointing. Looking for non-Michelin alternatives for two front tires, maybe General Altimax RT 43, recommended by Consumer Reports.

SHORTCOMINGS

I purchased a set of 4 of these for my RDX and was initially happy with them. I have 10K mostly highway miles on them now, and have become increasingly disappointed with the road noise and especially hard ride. i.e. over separations in the road, bridges and speed bumps.

Disappointing wear

We've had these for 20,000 miles, and the loss of tread is surprising, sort of amazing. No longer suitable for next winter when it snows 2 inches. Otherwise, a good all-round tire. Great gas mileage, good handling, not too noisy, stops well. Would like the same tire, but getting 40,000 miles out of them for all four seasons.

Smooth and quiet!

Bought these in April of this year to replace the original Continental Contacts that came with my new 2016 Honda CR-V. Was going to buy Toyos that I had on my 2008 CR-V, which I liked as they were quiet and smooth, but my go to tire shop person highly recommended that I would like the Defender better. So I gave them a try and he was right! They are actually smoother and quieter to the point that at times I have to look at the speedometer to make sure I'm within the speed limit. As one who looks for value and performance, I would recommend these tires! Honda cr-v

Good reliable tire

I original purchased this tire for a 2008 Corolla, no traction control or anti lock brakes, and found that winter traction was surprisingly good for an all season tire. I had approximately 50 000 kms on the tires when the car was written off January 2019, (I stopped but the guy behind me did not). The tires were wearing evenly and still looked new. I currently have the Michelin T & H tires on my Mazda CX-5 and could not be happier. They perform even better with skid control and antilock brakes. I have 7000 mms on them now and I look forward to many more years of trouble free service.

Immediate Gratification

2006 Stock Mustang 215/65/16 BFG's to 235/60/16 Mich Defender T+H KYB Stock strut shocks. Fit great, full travel no rubs. Look and feel superior. Recommended as replacement for stock BFG traction T/A Radials. Quiet Sweet Cadillac ride with grip handling and response. Would recommend as an upgrade.
