Unuse Genenerator

I received the generator two days before a pending freeze; however, we never lost [power so the generator was never tested. I've decided to use it solely on propane in the future to avoid the hassles of gasoline use (monthly startups, water in gas, varnishing in carb, etc.) so the dual fuel option will be fully used.

Well done Westinghouse!!

I was actually looking at another "blue" generator when I ran across this one. Once I compared features, etc., I went with the WGen9500DF. I really like the feature of being able to change from gas to propane without turning off the engine. Everything about this product so far has been first rate. Not concerned at all about losing power in a storm again.

Nice generator with great features!

This generator is great! It is not that much bigger from the generator I am upgrading from although it's power output is about 33% more. The handle to move it was thought out well. It connects to the frame at two points which allow for better weight distribution and balance when moving the generator. The electric start with wireless remote is another great option that isn't common in generators in this size and price range. The option to run on propane is a nice option to have when gasoline pumps become crowded or gas itself is hard to find. Combined with a soft starter this generator is capable of starting and running my 5 ton AC which is something the generator I am upgrading from wasn't capable of doing.

Good value, some quirks

Overall nice product that I've been quite happy with. Did have some trouble getting the generator to start the first time. I found that the amount of oil included in the bottle that came with the generator was not enough. Had to put and buy some more to top off the oil before the generator would run. Unit definitely requires some upkeep, and if you're from a younger generation like me that may be a bit daunting if unfamiliar with combustion engine mechanics.

Great generator

I purchased last month as we live in southerner Texas. We do see some power outages . It arrived in good shape. I put it together hooked the lp and three spins it was running switch to gas and the same three spins and it was running. I then hooked it up to my golf cart care charger and let it run for 1 hour the voltage held solid at 240 to 241. What a great generator sold as anyone i have ever had and I have have own 4 in my life time. thank you Westinghouse Mel.

Westinghouse 9500/12500 Watt Tri-Fuel Generator

We purchased this generator to power our home in the event of a power outage. We are running it on propane because it is clean and won't gum up the carburetor (which it may never do). We hooked up the propane and followed all of the start up directions and it fired right up. We had an interlock put it to transfer our power from the main to the generator. Everything worked perfectly. The electrician said it would run most everything including the hot water heater because we have natural gas. It rolls around easily on its wheels. It's also not as loud as I would have thought. I'm very impressed with this generator and would highly recommend it.

Already had a power outage!

We received our Dual Fuel 9500 in early April. Started it up, ran it through it's paces on both gas and propane. Everything worked fine. Ran the carburetor out of gas, and put it away. About a week later, the power went out at 3am. Went out, plugged the generator into the house and turned it on. It ran for 6.5 hours with no problems. The power came back on around 10:30am. I unplugged the generator from the house, ran the carburetor out of gas and put it back in storage. I am very please with it's performance during this first outage. I have worked on generators and I am very please with this product.

A lot of generator for the money.

I bought this as emergency backup to my home solar. I shopped around quite awhile online comparing features and prices, and also found a couple of professional reviews that gave very high marks to the Westinghouse, comparing it favorably to other more expensive brands. The final decider was when a good friend of mine bought this same model and I was very impressed with it. I can power my whole house with this thing, so I'm all set for and grid failures.

Just Awesome

Couldn't have been happier with this purchase. Easy to use, powerful, versatile options and dual fuel. What else can you ask for? And the price can't be beat. Bought for my son to use with his portable welder but now we are coming up with all kinds of ideas with the portable power and the added security to use for power outage security is great.

good so far

Received wgen9500df and prepared it for use. Only took a few minutes to install wheels and feet and fill with oil. I hooked up a tank of propane and it started on the first try. I've only used the 20 amp receptacles so far with a circular saw and grinder just to check functionality while waiting on a plug to rig up a 50a cord. Everything seems to be fine so far. Seems to be a quality built machine that will last a long time if taken care of but only time will tell. Very impressed.
