Great features

Just purchased, and the installation was very simple, took less then 15min. Fired right up, well built, the option for either gas or Lp is awesome. Remote start is a nice added bonus. Comes with everything you need to start, just add the fuel.

great bang for the buck!m

Bought this to replace an old generator with a new wgen9500dfc . Set up was easy with the directions and all the extras supplied with the generator to get it up and running it's a big plus. Ran it for an hour break in period and new oil put in and we're good to go.It starts real easy with the remote fob . I THINK IT'S A GOOD BUY FOR THE MONEY .

Supplies the necessary power

I purchased the WGen9500DFc about a month ago and have used it briefly to test the power. It will power most of our household items that are necessary in the event of a loss of electrical power which includes our well pump, furnace, refrigerators, TV, and computer. The generator started right up on propane and ran smoothly. It is a little loud when standing nearby, but should not be too loud inside the house. The wheels make it fairly portable on level ground, but it is heavy at 212 lbs. so it would be a struggle to pull it up an incline. I am happy to have this generator in the event of a future power loss.

Easy to install, great buy and decision

It's hurricane season in Central Florida. We were without electricity from Duke Energy three times. With no tax and a good price, it was an easy choice. Gasoline is hard to come at times, so we chose a multi-fuel. With a big enough tank the propane company delivers. It was easy to install, test and run. An electrician installed the breakers with no problem. Our family is now better prepared. It's not a matter of if, it's when the hurricane strikes. With a freezer and two refrigerators, it's important. We're on a well, so having electricity is key.

Powerful

I live in Central Florida and I have been thinking about having a whole house generator fo several years. We have experience a few power outages due to hurricanes over the last two decades and it is very inconvenient to deal with for several days to a week. I purchased the Westinghouse Dual Fuel 9500 watt generator because it is powerful to run all of my key systems with the versatility of using gasoline or propane. Both are in short supply during a storm so the more options the better. I also liked the fact that it was a 50 amp generator with electric start. I just had a 10 circuit transfer circuit and an inlet plug outside to allow me to power my home without running extension cords. I ran a test when everything was completed and the 9500 started. I flipped on all circuits and the 9500 handled everything I threw at it. It was able to power 2 refrigerators, Hot water heater and water pump with no problem. The Generator did not bog down even when every thing was on including wall air conditioners, lights and fans. I cannot comment on how it will preform during a storm since we haven't had on yet. I am interested to see how many hours it will run on a tank of propane. I have purchased some larger tanks and have them filled and stored. I would like to be able to last 3-4 days without having to go out and search for fuel. So far, I am extrmely happy with this purchase. This Generator is well made, powerful and not very loud.

Westinghouse 9500 TriFuel Portable Generator Great

I bought the W-house tri-fuel generator for emergency power and flexibility of fuels. No flaws or damage on delivery and super-simple final assembly -just prop up and put wheels on with a cotter-key, attach front feet, and connect the battery ! Of course -you NEED to put oil in (it's provided) before you run it. Noise level is appropriate for this size generator. Test starts with my table saw (12A), and large shop vac(6A) were regulated smoothly and quickly with O-scope, waveform has minimal noise. Frequency showed 61Hz, but I haven't run it on Natural Gas yet where it might be slightly slower (less Hz). The regulation was very tight when large loads come on, recovering in 2-3 seconds. The remote start FOB works well, though it's a little different than I'm used to. Read the instructions carefully for pairing - note that the “battery power” indicator is a constant yellow light. The “Green” backlight that they instruct you to press “Start” for is the normal start button. All's well, it just took me a few min to get that the “Battery Power” light is yellow, not Green. Finally, the wheels are mounted for great balance so that lifting the handle to move the generator is surprisingly light, easier than other generators this size (Thanks!).

Powerful and easy to use

Just got it so haven't had a chance to use it much, but so far it seems like it will get the job done. No more frozen pool equipment or burst pipes and I won't freeze in my own home ever again! I used a transfer switch to hook it directly to the circuits I need most, so ERCOT, I'm ready for another one of your total failures!

Quality Generator

We purchased this generator to power our necessities during a power loss. It arrived ahead of delivery date. We have not used it yet but have unpacked it and found it to be a very well built product. All parts were included with nothing missing. Plan to post another review after use.

great features

I haven't had it very long but one reason I bought it is because of the tri fuel feature. I like that it can use propane, natural and gasoline. We have power outages occasionally and will like having a backup plan. It's not too bulky and will fit in my garage without taking up too much room.

Affordability with Amazing Features

Ahead of the hurricane season this year I hurt my back checking aged generators and thought there had to be a better portable product available. I found it with this dual fuel model. The WGen9500DF not only had great reviews, it's affordable and versatile yet produces enough power on either fuel source to power all our essentials through any outage and the freedom to run off our home propane or gas, non-ethanol preferred.
