Needed a new generator and after my research, this is the one I felt matched my needs. First impression is that it's well built. Heavy but it won't move very far as it's for my house. First nights run was flawless. You'll get about 10hrs our of a tank of gas. I haven't ran it on propane yet. Many features that I like, some I don't need. Set up was a breeze. I'm pleased with my purchase so far.

This is the second Westinghouse generator I have purchased this month. The dual fuel capability for monthly exercise of the engine was a key feature as well as the low THD. I have owner Generac and a variety of box brands and the workmanship and features for the price make them a high value purchase.

My husband and I looked for over a month to find the perfect generator out there. After much searching and researching, we came to the decision to by a Westinghouse generator and we are so happy we did! Even our electrician was impressed! Living in Florida, I have three generators. This is the biggest and best yet ! This is my first dual fuel. Working on getting the correct tank for my use. It is all together and ready to go as soon as I get a tank. I have a family member that has a smaller Westinghouse, that is the reason for my purchase. I'm excited !

I did thorough research between this generator and other manufacturers. The WGen12000DF offered the better options such as the 5% THD along with the fuel efficiency of 11 hours @ 50% load. The auto idle feature is great too. You don't get these many features with competitor models. It arrived within a week due to shipment. No damages to shipment. Came with oil and battery. Connected the battery, added oil and fuel. The generator fired after a couple cranks. I got it registered for warranty and am ready for hurricane season here in Florida.

Everything looks good out of the box. Wheels went on easy (thanks to the stand it ships on) and the delivery guys waited to help me unload it off the stand. If I didn't have help getting it off the shipping stand, it would have been very difficult. Moving the generator around is surprisingly easy given its size and weight. Opened oil drain valve and washer. There was at least a cup of oil that came out. I don't like the design of the drain plug here as it basically spills onto the bracket and you're supposed to place a pan under the feet to catch the oil (with feet inside pan getting oily). Probably best to use a valve with drain hose in place of drain plug. Filling with oil is a little awkward, be sure to pour slowly as recommended in manual. Dipstick is a little awkward, but not terrible. Initially I tried to start with propane but it was idling very rough. Ran it on gas for about an hour. Tried propane again and it started without an issue. I will cold start on propane next time to make sure there's not an issue. The manual displays the propane hose with an additional regulator, but does not have one on the hose included with the generator. The regulator is on the generator already and the manual is likely incorrect. The Low/Smart Idle setting dropped the voltage to 190 and the frequency to 40 hz. Portability and noise level are good given the size and output. Very maneuverable on hard surface. Grass or soft surfaces may prove more difficult. I will continue to update this review as I use it more.

I have yet to try it out but from all appearances it looks like a well made machine. I did a lot of research and this generator hit all the marks. I wanted a dual fuel that will power my well, 2 refrigerators, some lights, internet/TV, ect. As others have said, changing the oil will probably be a mess due to the placement of the oil drain plug but we shall see. And putting the wheels on would be kinda tough (due to the wood pallet it comes on) unless you have help lifting it off the pallet or a tractor with a bucket/hitch like I have. It was easy for me. I like the fact that it does come on a wood pallet and my generator arrived at the store in great shape. I have an electrician coming in a week to wire the house panel so I can just plug in the generator on the outside of the house. Overall I am impressed with the workmanship I can see and look forward to never having to worry about another power outage. (last one lasted 10 days)

Bought the 12000DF for emergency/storm backup. Generator was delivered in great condition and was easy to assemble. With the wheels installed, moving the generator was easier than I expected. Start-up instructions where clear and the remote start feature will be very useful. Multiple outlets provide great flexibility.

EXCELLENT BUILD- IT COMES WITH NG AND PROPANE HOSE TO GET YOU UP AND RUNNING. THERE IS ALSO A TRICKLE CHARGER. I AM IN THE BREAK IN PREIOD AND USED THE PROPANE FOR THE INITAL RUN. ITS LOUD BUT IN A OUTAGE I DON'T CARE...LOL. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND AS THIS SEEM LIKE THE BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK!

I bought this generator after several weeks of reviewing many generators. I originally planned on buying two. So we could run everything with out a worry. But this generator will run my a/c ,lights, tv and well pump. All at the same time. So another 12000 watt generator might be over kill.
