I previously had a 3600 model generator during a hurricane. Powered everything i needed without a glitch, with the rating for it. So i purchased the 9500 to power my house next time around. Long lasting power and very quiet for a generator. Best Run time with least amount of fuel.

After the last 4 day power outage, losing our freezer contents (not covered by insurance), inability to use electric kitchen appliances and no well water pump, we decided to purchase this generator. My research brought me to this reliable brand name. After reading about its many convenient features such as push button start, remote start, dual fuel choice, compact size, etc. it was an easy choice. Discovered a convenient handle that makes moving the generator easy. VERY happy with our choice!

Extremely pleased with the purchase of this Generator. The quality and packaging is outstanding. I had the unit assembled and running on propane in 20 minutes. The electric start and dual fuel capabilities are two of the features that drew me to the purchase. I plan on using the generator for back-up power supply and will be installing a 10 circuit transfer switch to run part of our home during power outages.

Just got the generator today, unboxed it done the simple assembly. Put the included 1.1 liter of oil in it, and it doesn't fill it up to the hash marks, just over the bottom knob on the dipstick, not sure what's up with that. I attached the propane tank and it started right up, seemed to run good and the digital gage showed good power. Now the problem. I shut it off, went to restart it and the starter drive kicked out and the starter set and ran without turning the engine over. Had to shut the switch off to get it the starter shut off. Tried it again 2 more times, and it did the same thing. On the try after that the starter stayed engaged and started the engine. I will contact customer service and see what happens. I was looking forward to this generator and I think it will be a good one once this gets sorted out.

I purchased this generator to hook up to our home, as a power backup. I had previously installed a 30amp breaker and outlet, to use our sons generator, which is rotting away in our shed. His generator is very difficult to pull start and unreliable. According to my wife, there was no way she would be able to start it, should I be hurt or unavailable. This is a wonderful step up. What I Like: It is VERY easy to start. Has a large push button start that activates the engine immediately. Has a remote start Key FOB that worked from our windowless basement, 12 feet down and 25 feet away from the generator. (It is where our electric panel is located.) Outside Noise level is acceptable, no louder than a log splitter or mower. After putting a gallon of gas in I tried to start it. It cranked, however did not start. Added another gallon of gas and we were, Off to the Races. Started & Worked Perfect. I disconnected the 'Bonded Neutral," since we are plugging directly to the house, and the house circuit box is grounded. Comes with all the accessories needed to get up and running including a Battery Charger! Did require a little more oil than provided. Very pleased with this purchase. We have a large home; well pumps, sewer pumps, circulating pump for tap water, outdoor wood burning furnace with underfloor heating installed, which requires additional water pumps. And of course refrigerators, furnace fan and lighting.This generator can easily handle the load. I do not think we will be washing and drying clothes during a power outage, so I am not considering that option. The manual was very helpful. It depicts exactly how to 'unbond the neutral,' on the generator. Very smart to have included both a 30amp & 50amp plugin on the generator. I can use our existing 30 amp outlet. I have run 6 gauge wire and will be hooking up a 50amp outlet..

I received the box with minimal damage (holes in box). After unpacking the paint on the front panel was chipped off. Two out of the four mounting feet bolts would not screw in due to the threads being stripped! I had to use smaller bolts, nuts and washers to secure that I supplied. I hope it holds up.Customer should not have to do that. There was not parts that could be sent as the threads are threaded into the frame. They would have had to send a new unit which I was not going to go through all that trying to ship this unit back. The unit does not start using push button or remote unless it is warmed up. You have to manually slide choke before starting cold. After warmed up they will start either way. This should not have to be. What's the use of remote start if you have to do that. I ran the unit for one hour and it seemed to run fine.

I bought this generator at a bargain.the shipping company was very good and quick considering the ice storms in the area.the generator was a little hard to start on propane hopefully that changes once the engine breaks in. Was in good condition when delivered.the only negative is the wheels the right one rubs on the battery box

Our electrician just installed a Homeline generator interlock kit w/ a two-pole 50 amp breaker under the meter/panel combo & supplied a 20' cord w/ twist-lock ends. With fresh non-ethanol gas, supplied oil, & battery hooked up...it fired right up! Started introducing various circuit breakers & it will comfortably run all the needed components: 2.5 ton ac/air-handler, frig, all lights, etc. I Think we're ready for the next power outage! So, very happy we purchased this highly rated, powerful, Westinghouse duel-fuel portable generator!

I bought this a few weeks before Hurricane Sally just in case. I actually never took it out of the box until after the Hurricane passed. It started right up and kept going without a hitch. We were without power for five days and I never had a problem. I did stop it to change the oil at the 20 to 25 hour mark. A fantastic generator and i look forward to hooking it up to the house with the transfer switch option.

So far this has been a great purchase. The remote start/stop feature was one of the major selling points for me. Comes almost fully assembled, just add the wheels, oil and a fuel source and your off. It takes all of 10 minutes. Don't forget to read the manual for the break in period.
