Easy to assemble, starts right up

I bought the generator as a backup for our home during power outages. The generator arrived quickly and requires very little assembly. I was able to gas up the generator and it started right up. All the instructions needed to operator the generator are on the generator itself so it makes it easy.

WGEN9500TFC

I bought this in Dec. 2023 and im glad i did. it runs on all three resources of gasoline, propane and natural gas. This unit will run my whole house except % ton A/C. I live in Texas and we have rolling power outtages and i will be warm on winter and cool in summer with ceiling fans. it comes assembled except wheels and very easy to put together. it also comes with oil and a funnel. It is battery started push button and has a key fob so you dont have to go outside to start or stop. I use natural gas because its convenient for me and the generator will start quickly. My wife can easily use this generator if im not around.

Great Generator!!!

This generator was easy to assemble. Ten minutes wheels and leveling legs where on. Oil added, gas put in tank, propane hooked up. Ran 2 hours with 1 gallon of gas (still some in tank) then turn handle from gas to propane without missing a beat. Ran another 2 hours. I had all lights on in house, 3 bathroom fans, 1 tv, ran dishwasher, washing machine, 2 refrigerators, microwave and a basement dehumidifier. Ran the furnace for heating as well. I used the 14-30 outlet to a manual interlock. This generator kept up without missing a beat. Extremely happy with this purchase for emergency power. After researching the Westinghouse generators kept coming up top of list in all reviews. Seems to be a very well built machine.

Ready for Texas grid failure

After spending countless weeks researching backup power solutions for emergency backup power for my Texas home I ended up purchasing the Wgen9500DF. First and foremost for my purchase was the reputation of Westinghouse. Their track record and history had a big influence on my decision. That along with talking with current owners regarding their experiences with WH generators, their warranty and quality of craftsmanship and I was sold. My motivation for emergency power was driven by the Texas Big Adventure this past February where the majority of residents of Texans lost power during an unexpected winter storm. We were without power for seven days due to the failure of the states' lack of preparation to maintain their power plants. Unfortunately Texas has refused to join interstate electrical grids and railed against energy regulation. Because of this, there is no oversight to keeping things working as other states do. It reminds me of having the fox be in charge of the hen house or having the prisoners run the prison. I looked at a lot of other options such as solar and whole house generators. The cost (even with tax deductions for solar) made it prohibitive as I have a fixed monthly income. Having a large 'portable' generator made it attractive and affordable. The fact that it's duel fuel was another factor in giving me the flexibility I required. I would like to have wrote this review with some generator run times under my belt. But time will tell. If things go south for some reason and I have problems I will update this review. I anticipate also purchasing small Westinghouse invertor to run sensitive electronics and medical equipment. While I could have purchased a larger invertor generator I decided that having another small form duel fuel WH backup invertor made more sense for my situation to supplement the 9500.

Runs fine, easy to start

Haven't had to use it for a power outage as of yet but during the test phase it worked great, remote start/stop worked and push button start worked. Only tested it with propane, I will avoid using gas at all costs. Already got a friend to buy the smaller model.

Great generator

Westinghouse WGen9500DF is a very nice generator with all the bells and whistles. Dual fuel and remote start! I needed help to get it started the first time and the customer service line had me running in a couple minutes. It is a great product with great support.

Westinghouse 9500DF

Just purchased this beauty yesterday and will definitely come in handy as it is indented to power up an entire house for my special needs stepson. I installed a circuit panel plug to the electric panel on the house. Will return with a more complete review once used.

Great features

I love the fact it is dual fuel. It has a lot of different power ports, not only for whole house use, but if we decide to take it with us to activities or camping. Love the remote start so I can have it ready in the event of electrical outages due to a storm.

Good product. Good price

Bought a couple months ago. Have not needed to use it so far but seems to work well. There have been some negative reviews about not starting on gasoline. Especially first use. But I had no trouble. It cranked over several times while attempting to start but since it is a new machine and no fuel was in the system I expected some issues the first time. Also, the auto choke is adjusting to try to start the engine while still priming. Once I noticed that I manually set the choke to on. It started right up. After that the electric start worked perfectly. Have not used on LP yet but plan to run off our home LP tank.
