Great generator

Like many I've been left without power too many times by storms and I wanted a portable generator that could run on natural gas to avoid having to search for fuel which becomes scarce quickly in emergencies. It was easy to assemble and started on the first try. I've only run it on natural gas, but don't plan to use the other fuels. The hose for connecting to natural gas is included, as well as one for propane. It's quite heavy, but much easier to move around than I expected with the included wheels and handles. It's as loud as expected - similar to other units in its size. I was impressed with how clean it runs on natural gas compared to the gasoline unit I borrowed during our last event.

Superior Generator! Beautiful!

I purchased this recently and what a quiet, reliable generator! Right out of the box and 15 minutes later I was up and running! George Westinghouse, back in 1886 would really be proud of this unit! The dual fuel option is of course an added bonus! Great job Team Westinghouse!

Amazing Generator

I picked up my new Westinghouse generator today and got it all unpacked and setup. I am extremely impressed with the packaging, design, and ease of assembly. I will be using this as a home generator as we get power outages frequently in Utah. I own other Westinghouse generators and I am overly impressed with quality and reliability.

just got it & registering

Hope it works better than a smaller gas Westinghouse I bought. Had to take in for repairs twice in the last year, right when I needed it. Would not have purchased a Westinghouse again, but reviews are good and I need a bigger tri-fuel unit and westinghouse was the only one with everthing I want

Very cool machine with the latest technology.

I bought this instead of a standby generator. It has the same power but is much more affordable. I also bought it because it's Westinghouse and is very highly rated. I live in the country so my biggest concern was our water well. I had a smaller generator and it worked hard to run the well, this one runs it with not effort. So far I love my new generator!

nice machine

packaged really good, not a scratch.was easy to put wheels and rubber feet on but I used a chain hoist to get it off the ground, maybe two people could handle it,but I was alone.poured oil that came with it in,hooked up propane, and it started right up.the only thing I plugged in was a drill.when I get the 50 amp plug and 50 amp extension cord I will try more.i have no doubts that it will do what its supposed to.impressive machine

Solid generator, but funky natural gas connection

Generator works great. Powers the whole house, including AC, while running on natural gas. Only issue I had was connecting it to my 3/4” gas line. Apparently this now comes with a 5/8” outer diameter threaded fitting, and I had to combine a few different adapters to connect it with my gas line. Also, the manual and the listings online don't give CFH or BTU requirements for running on natural gas, but fortunately I was able to find it in the reviews. This is information that should be in the item documents

Worked Great on LP

I just bought this and after getting it assembled, I hooked it up to an LP bottle and it started right up. It came with a charged battery and everything. I haven't used it long enough to give it a 5 star. After I have used it a few times I'll leave a new review. The only thing I think could be improved is allowing it to be hooked up to an auto transfer switch. I understand that I can by a switch to work with this unit, but it only has 2 outlets. It would be great if it could be set up to power the whole house because this is how I will run it when I manually switch it on.

Rough start but everything finally worked out ok.

Purchased the first generator and took over a month for Westinghouse to send me the correct adapters, hose ect. This took five different phone calls and deliveries. When I fired up the generator for the first time it leaked gas and would not start. More phone calls. Eventually they sent me a new generator, and all is well. The generator is working well and is power my entire house (3600 sq/ft). I am happy with the product but what a journey it was

WGen14500TFc is a Beast

I bought this generator a week ago with plans to setup powering our 3000sq ft home as a whole house generator. It didn't disappoint! After several weeks of research and seeking references from those that own portable whole house generators I landed on the Westinghouse Tri Fuel 14500. I liked its flexibility of fuel sources and the setup plans I had included running off our home's natural gas meter through a quick disconnect setup. This generator comes with both a natural gas hose and a hose with regulator for using LP gas. When the generator arrived my electrician was here installing an interlock switch in my home power distribution panel and 50amp weather rated receptacle outside. I quickly assembled the wheels and rubber feet on the generator and rolled it off the pallet. I had installed the quick connect to the gas meter that morning so everything was ready to go. Before starting the generator I followed the generator manual instructions, added oil, which it comes with, and connected the battery. Next was pairing the key fob . Once I had everything ready I connected it to the natural gas fuel source and started the generator. The generator started up with no issues. As the manual instructions confirmed the generator needed to be run for 5 hours under a light load to allow for break in of critical parts before handling heavy electrical loads. The break in time completed the day. The following day I conducted a power outage simulation. I hooked up the generator to the house through the 50amp locking receptacle with 50amp 25' power cord. Fired up the generator and flipped the main breaker off on the home power distribution panel. This allowed me to slide the interlock device so I could flip on the 50 amp generator power breaker. I had also flipped off the 50,49 and 30 amp breakers. This was done to avoid placing too heavy of a load on the generator. The generator powered all of the 115 volt outlets and lights in the house with no problems. Next up was to test the generator powering our 5 ton AC with the lights and receptacles on. I flipped on the AC 50amp breaker and turned down the thermostat. The AC started and you could hear the generator grunt once and drop in running tone but know issues! The generator powered everything including the 5 ton AC unit at the same time! What a beast! Keep in mind, I did install a hard start kit on the AC before performing this test to lower the start up amp requirements from the AC compressor. I don't think the generator would have powered the 5 ton AC without this modification.
