Great tire for off-road

I don't give out 5 stars so easy, and I lost 1 MPG from my dealer tire. This tire grips the road, and it was great on the beach sand this past weekend. Winter is coming but it should be much better that the "all season" tire that I had. This is a great tire for those that actually use 4x4.

Great Tire - but it has a specific purpose

Personally, I am fairly pleased with these tires. They started off a bit loud, but seem to have gotten a bit quieter after 2k miles. I went with an LT size, so I knew the ride was going to be stiff, but tire does seem to be fairly well damped. Lots of confidence off road, and the tire seems to be very durable in lots of sharp rocks. Lost about 1-2mpg, but for our vehicle the trade off and decreased ride quality was worth it for the added durability and peace of mind knowing we can take our Land Cruiser to the end of the earth in any weather or terrain and know we can get back.

82,000 miles!

Beyond impressed, that an all terrain with great traction lasted so long. I was expecting to have to replace them before 50,000 miles. The 265/65r17 version came on my 2017 Colorado ZR2. Yes, I drove over 80,000 miles on these tires and there was still more than enough tread to be legal, 3/32" (2/32" is legal limit in Florida). I didn't take care of these as well as I could have, but I did rotate them. Everytime they started humming noticeably louder, I rotated them, usually around 10,000 miles, and the hum would go away for a long time. I should've had them rebalanced every 10,000 as well. You can't expect the weight to remain perfectly balanced as it loses rubber. At around 60,000 miles I rotated and found I had one tire out of round. I put that tire on the right rear where it stayed until replaced. I believe had I been balancing the tires, I could've avoided that one tire going out of round, and I could've kept rotating, allowing for the tires to last even more miles. I'm only writing this review because I saw so many negative reviews from people who are clearly ignorant of the causes of tire wear. Poor alignment, worn out shocks, and worn suspension components are major contributors to uneven tire wear. You can have an alignment done, and still have problems, if your suspension bushings are worn, or you have sloppy tie rod ends or ball joints. The alignment rack measures alignment in a no load condition. As you drive down the road, friction pulls your tires in different directions in different situations. Whether braking, turning, accelerating, maintaining, or coasting, forces are pulling on suspension diffently, and if your suspension is worn, your tires will go out of alignment in any condition other than sitting on a smooth flat surface like the alignment rack. I bought my truck new, so I didn't have any of those issues, but a lot of the negative reviews come from people that clearly have other problems, and they are blaming the tires.

Absolutely INCREDIBLE in the Winter!

I have been telling my husband for years to go Goodyear and he finally listened and he is now a Goodyear Tire Guy too! These are Great on Tar, Sand, Gravel, Ice & Snow! I have been in MN all of my life and always had Goodyear Wranglers and this time upgraded to the Wrangler DuraTrac and could not be happier! These are incredible on all surfaces. We are in a Blizzard today and never lost traction. Everyone else is in the ditches and we went right down the road like butter. They work great on tar, sand, ice, snow, mud, gravel, you name it. I highly recommend these to anyone who wants to stick to the ground they mean to be on. I have been a professional driver since 1990 and never been happier with a tire than I am of the Wrangler DuraTrac tires. I don't even need to put my truck in 4WD and they work on all surfaces. If you ever need a Test Dummy to try out more gimme a call! I am your Girl! ~ MNGirl

Better Tires For The Money

I'm just getting ready to get rid of these tires after 53000 miles on a 2018 Colorado 2wd. These tires were great for about the 1st year then the compound seemed to have hardened and then became extremely noisy at city and freeway speeds. Tire is good but just too noisy. Only reason I kept them for so long was because of the money. Definitely not buying again nor do I recommend unless you are using it for strictly off road.

Made my 2wd Colorado a real truck

I had a set of Hankook passenger car tires on my truck and while they rode well and were whisper quiet they didn't inspire in the traction, or hauling aspect for my truck. I immediately felt like I was driving a pickup when I left the installers. The tires are surprisingly quiet for the aggressive tread, they handle well and while they did form up the ride it simply feels more solid and sure footed now. The steering is slightly more vague feeling when compared to a car tire but that to be expected. They transformed the looks and ability of my lil truck!

Surprisingly quiet

These tires are providing the type of ability and function I purchased them foe. Final verdict comes in the winter and snow. Most impressive, besides handling, is the quietness of these tires. Moreover, they are impressive looking and I get compliments from others about the way they look and enhance the ruggedness of my GMC Canyon.

Good tires so far!

I have had these tires for a few months now and they have been great. They have a nice chunky tread but also ride smooth and aren't too loud. I don't expect the tread to last as long as some of the other longer mileage options but I'll have to wait and see.

Arguable one of the best all around offroad centric tires.

Current set are 35x12.5 R17, mounted to a 17x9 wheel. I bought 5x & rotate the full set/spare at 5k. I have 64,500+ miles on them w/ 11/32 left on the tires. The tires are a little noisy at 50-75 MPH, but drive well in day to day use, & perform well towing. They have been through ORV parks, up the Rockys, into British Columbia via highway, forestry trails, logging trails, and technical offroad trails. They have seen dirt, sharp rocks, mud, sand, snow, sleet & perform very admirably. I have lost small sections of tread on loose sharp rocks. I air down to around 25 PSI for mixed offroad/on road use, & typically will got to 18-20 for more trying conditions. Of 64,500 miles; ~4+k are with moderate to heavy offroad use, ~2k are from normal dirt roads/trails, ~5k towing 5000lbs, & 1.5k towing 10000 lbs. Their winter performance, general offroad performance, & tire life is arguable second to none, and represent a great value proposition. Please build 37x12.5R17s
