Cajun boiled peanuts

I love these Cajun boiled peanuts. I put them in a pot, bring them to a boil, turn them down to simmer for about 3 hours. They're delicious!

Delicious and Affordable, with a Kick!

Exactly what you want in boiled peanuts, with a kick of Cajun spice. Much like their green salted (non spicy) cousins, these are fine right out of the can, or dumped into a crockpot on high for a few hours to get them nice and soft. However, I've found an even more perfect and easy method of preparation that yields much quicker results. Place the peanuts and their brine into an Instant Pot, close the lid/vent, and cook on Manual Pressure (High) for 25-30 minutes. Once they're done, allow the pressure to release naturally for 30 minutes, and then manually release any that's left. A piping hot, soft but not mushy, perfectly spicy and salty snack that will tickle your taste buds, perfect paired with an ice cold Coke.

Boiled Peanuts vs Frozen

I could not find the frozen peanuts so decided to try the canned instead. Surprisingly tasty, well seasoned and soft. Just a bit high on the salt.

Do not buy

70% were rotten and the cans were destroyed when they got to my house. If you look at the picture i picked a whole plate of them and the bowl was all that were good. From a whole plate. I think they don't make these any more in “Cajun” so buy the spicy ones

Too bothersome

Bought them for my husband thinking these boiled peanuts were like any other nut, ready to eat, still haven't cooked them
