It lights well, even in a moderate windy situation. I do not recommend lighting candles where you have to stick your hand half way down.

Whereas some lighters, you have to flick it a few times before lighting but these light in the first flick. They have a very modest size they fit well in your hand are compact. Well built.

Not a smoker but I like to use these for lighting candles and removing strings off my uniforms. It's always nice to have a lighter on hand if someone needs to borrow one or if you need to start the campfire. I keep one in my purse and in my car. I like the pretty colors and choices of design. They are also easy to light and have a smooth flicker.
