good product

i have been using this product for a couple months now and i am pleased with the results of adding smoothies to my diet. i do notice that it does not break up all the seeds as i was hoping, also i noticed that the motor would smell like it was overheating after only a 40 or 50 second grind. i am not used to an electric motor having to be run for short bursts as a mater of normal use, but the instructions state not to run for more than a minute at a time without a break in between. except for these matters, and again it's my opinion, it works great. this machine will help anyone eat healthy and live longer.

small but fits my lifestyle

I purchased this in September. I use it almost weekly. I enjoy the texture of the smoothies. It only takes a few minutes to thoroughly blend. I also have a Vitamix that I purchased years ago. Paid a lot more, but it stopped working and took up a lot of space. This NutriBullet is very practical for a single person's cooking needs.

Wonderful Product

I purchased this item for my daughter who wanted to use it to make baby food. This product works like a charm! She made various fruits and vegetables for her little one in record time. This was a great investment that we will use over and over again. I even have used it for our cooking and baking!

Great healthy gift

MY FAVORITE HEALTHY THINGS One of the most popular former TV episodes of the year in the renowned Oprah Winfrey show was her Holiday show called, “My Favorite Things”. Having Oprah Winfrey recommend a product could literally cause a company’s business to skyrocket overnight, a phenomenon coined “the Oprah effect”. While I am not suggesting that my recommendations for any product can compare to the clout of an Oprah Winfrey, I do like to share any books, foods, exercises, or ideas that I come across that I feel may be of interest and benefit to my loyal readers who are interested in improving their health. Therefore, with the holiday season upon us and, with that, the never-ending quest for a meaningful gift, I would like to recommend my favorite new “toy” called the Nutribullet. I bought myself one of these a few months ago after watching those infomercials on Cable TV featuring spokesperson David Wolfe. David was one of the guest speakers at the school I attended to become certified as a holistic health coach so I know he’s the real deal. I do not think that David would associate himself with any product he didn’t believe in just for the cash because he’s so passionate about what he believes. The reason I like the Nutribullet is because it’s easy to use, has a compact size, is very easy to clean and operate. The basic formula to make great tasting shakes is very straightforward, yet allows for a lot of personal variation so you can be as creative as you like. Basically, you fill half the container with fresh greens of some kind. I suggest you start with a mild flavored green like baby spinach if you are not accustomed to eating greens or don’t think you like them. Fill the rest of the container with fresh or frozen fruit, add a liquid like water or almond milk and just press to start blending. That’s it! In less than a minute you will have a great tasting, healthy drink filled with all the vitamins, minerals, and fiber that you need to start out your day. What could be easier for anyone who is short on time, but still wants to maximize their nutrition intake? Please note, that I am not a spokesperson for Nutribullet nor do I get compensated by them in any way for recommending their product. In all frankness, there are a variety of Nutribullet like blenders out there that I’m sure are just as good. I just happened to have bought this one and I’m simply telling you my first hand experiences. Let’s go over making the shake part in greater detail and I will share my personal tips with you. First of all, when you go to the store to buy the greens and fruit, I highly recommend going organic. You can always go to Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s or your local health food store, but nowadays you can easily find an organic section in traditional supermarkets like Stop & Shop & Waldbaum’s at a fair price. To save time, there is quite a selection of various greens that are already triple washed and torn into smaller pieces so all you have to do is open the package and put them right into your shake container. You can choose from baby kale, mixed spring greens, Swiss chard, or a combination of a few different greens. Secondly, when you are buying your fruit, try to get fruit that is ripened to perfection to get the best flavor or, depending on the type of fruit, allow it to ripen at home on your windowsill. Pears are a good example of this. Berries are also a great choice because they are high in antioxidants and low in sugar. Choose from blueberries, strawberries, blackberries, and dark cherries. They are available year round in the freezer section of the store. Using frozen fruit can be an advantage if you are looking for a cold, creamy texture to your shake. Speaking of creamy, I like to add half of a frozen banana to my morning shake. It’s a great source of potassium and natural sweetness, plus a great way to use those bananas that tend to all ripen at the same time. I just peel the banana, break it in half so my portion size is already set, and put the banana halves into a re-sealable plastic bag in the freezer. You can also try kiwis, apples, pineapple, or any fruit that you like. You are limited only by your taste and imagination. Coming now to the liquids, water is always a safe bet. However, depending on the quality of water in your area, I suggest using filtered or spring water to reduce exposure to chemicals and pesticides. If you want a creamier texture, you can try one of the many “milks” out there today. My favorite is unsweetened almond milk, but you can also use rice milk, coconut milk, soy milk, hemp milk, and regular cow’s milk. Again, if you are using the latter, please go organic to avoid added hormones and antibiotics. You can also cut your milk and use half milk and half water. I suggest using the unsweetened versions of these milks to keep your sugar content down. If you are looking for a thick, cold, creamy shake, I’ll share a secret with you that I learned when I was a kid from the owner of one of those old fashioned soda fountains. Put whatever liquid you are using in a glass measuring cup and put it into the freezer for 15 minutes before making your shake. It semi freezes your liquid so your shakes come out so thick you can eat it with a spoon! Other ingredients that you may want to try include plain Greek yogurt to give your gut healthy acidophilus, canned cooked pumpkin for vitamin A, unsweetened coconut water, nuts and seeds, and spices like cinnamon that help regulate blood sugar levels. To give your shake an extra nutritional boost, there are a couple of adds-ins that I use regularly and would like to recommend. You can use them alone or in combination with the others. They are: • The Nutribullet superfoods superboost. This is a package containing ground chia seeds, goji berries, maca, and cacao without any added sugar. These are all considered super foods and can add a lot of nutritional punch to your shake. You can find this product at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. • Whey protein powder is another great add in to give you protein. My favorite is a brand called Jay Robb. It comes in flavors like vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry and is sweetened with stevia so it has no extra calories from refined sugar or artificial sweeteners. It is also fat free and contains no GMO’s. • Ground flax seed is another great add in to give you Omega 3 fatty acids and additional fiber. • There is a product from Standard Process that I like called SP powder. It’s a sugar free, highly nutritious blend of various whole foods in powder form that add a lot of high quality nutrition to your shake. Here’s a favorite recipe of mine to get you started: 1. Fill your container half way with raw baby organic spinach 2. Add a cut up pear with the skin, but exclude the seeds 3. Add half a frozen banana 4. Pour in 8 ounces of semi frozen unsweetened almond milk 5. Add in half a scoop of whey protein powder 6. Add one tablespoon of Nutribullet Superfoods Superblast. 7. Press to start, blend for 30 seconds and serve. Yum!!!!! This is just one example of many delicious shakes you can make in your Nutribullet. The blender comes with a hard covered recipe book to give you loads of other ideas. You can purchase the Nutribullet on line or you can buy it at Bed, Bath & Beyond. If you use one of their 20% off coupons that they send out regularly, you can really get yourself a holiday bargain. So, if you are looking for a great gift for someone who’s trying to get healthy, or a friend who is always on the go and has little time for a healthy meal, or even for yourself, I highly recommend the Nutribullet. As someone who already eats a healthy diet, I really didn’t think I would use this that often, but thought I would try it none-the-less. Much to my surprise, the shakes are so good and filling, that I have one every morning for breakfast Monday through Friday. Of course I vary my shakes daily to insure that I get a wide variety of nutrients in my diet. So try it and let your culinary imagination run wild. Your taste buds and body will thank you for taking such good care of yourself. Isn’t that a nice holiday gift?

Review - Keeping it real !

It's true what all the advertisments promote the NutriBullet is a fantastic product to have if your looking to improve your health and want the no hassle quick drink with out the cumbersome juicers of before. My only criticism is the winding mechanism when screwing the blender to the base unit - it often comes undone when unscrewing the top leaving the juice to leak into the base.

Boy Do We Enjoy Our Nutribullet

We use our Nitribullet every morning and on occasion another time during the day. Since we started using it we have increased our daily intake of fruits and vegetables. No more high carb waffles, pancakes, hash browns, cold ceral or toast every morning. I put in some celery, apple, pear, banana, spinach, chia seed and flax seed and it blends them to perfection. And that is only a start. The list is endless of fruits and veggies you can blend. We love our Nutribullet

Makes good smoothies. High maintenance.

Gaskets fall out when washing. Kids can't always seat gasket properly. If seal not tight, it leaks into the 3 sensors that start the motor. No easy way to clean sensors in base. If liquid dries, sensors jam and have to be forced to release then so mixer base works. Not a well thought out design. Makes good smoothies when it works.

Fiber included!

I have had my Nutribullet (900w) for several months. It VERY quickly blends up the best veggie/fruit smoothies. I use fresh or frozen produce, add a little water and maybe a little fruit juice and I have never had any problems with it. I love that I'm not throwing out the pulp like you would if you used a juicer. If I use it to make a frozen coffee drink, I used crushed ice cubes just to avoid any potential problems. Easy, breezy to clean, too. Great product!
