Great laptop for a good price

The laptop is dependable, fast, bright, stable, light, reliable, and has plenty of RAM and storage space with a HUGE screen. Plus, it's a great price. I recommend and would buy again. The only negative feature is that it includes a WiFi-5 card. The good news is that the wifi card is removable so I installed Wifi-6e card for less than $20. However, Gateway could have easily included a faster NIC for pennies.

Keys don't match photos. Great specs for the money

The product photos don't match the laptop. The photos show the HOME, END, PG UP, PG DN keys in the upper right above the numeric keypad. The laptop has different, less useful keys there: Delete, Scr Lk, Prt Scr, and Pause. I had to return the first one because the cooling fan sounded like a mosquito on steroids. It was awful and unbearable. It also had the incorrect keys mentioned above. Fortunately the replacement seems to have a normally functioning fan for the moment. Otherwise, the specs are a great value for the money. I searched all over and at this price point, competitive products had half the memory and sometimes 1/4th the SSD capacity. The screen is large which improves productivity. Hoping the fan stays quiet on this one.

Disappointed

Ordered online, received 11/7/24. Left it unopened for 4 weeks or so. Waited to see if there would be a better deal for xmas. Once i finally opened i set it up and used it minimally for a few weeks until i switched everything over. Was great until this past saturday. Used it to look up some stuff. Closed it and put it back on the charger. 30 min later got it to lookup something else and black screen lit up with color blob at top just right of center. Was able to attach external monitor and pc was running. Decided to a restore to 12/30 to see if it would fix the issue. Now i get nothing on the external monitor.

WiFi Card Bad in 1 week

I purchased this laptop to handle some editing software. It did okay for the specs, but not great. However, after about a week the WIFI card stopped working altogether. Had it worked, it would have been a decent deal, but I expect a stationary laptop to last much longer than 1 week.

Have to replace after six months.

I bought this six months ago. A couple of weeks ago, it started frequently freezing up. When that happens, I can't switch between window tabs or close them out. I also can't open other programs. I have to open taskmaster to get the computer to unfreeze. I made sure that the drivers, Windows and other programs were all up-to-date. I used CCleaner to repair any registry issues and clean up the computer. Nothing has worked.

I regret buying this laptop. It is slow and does not work as the specs indicate it would. i shipped it back to Gateway and they said that it was functioning as intended. i will never buy anything made by Gateway again. huge disappointment. it is constantly disconnected from the internet. Terrible purchase. buy the extended warranty if you buy this laptop.

Gateway - StayAway!

I bought a similar laptop in 2023. Recently the battery strated swelling up pushing up on the touchpad. This is a dangerous situation and Gateway is saying they are not going to cover the warranty. Goggle it, this is not an uncommon occurance. I would stay away!

Don't get an exploding GATEWAY Computer... Danger

I bought a gateway and the thing turned into a guppy. The keyboard area started to puff and swell while the keys got extra hot. I called to let them know but they won't ship me a replacement and won't tell me if I can turn on the computer without risking life and limb and property! I think the batteries in it are defective and about to burst. I want. to get my information off it but am worried. So I just bought a Lenovo so happy with quality and function for the price point. NO GATEWAY ever... they lost a loyal customer. Bad Quality, Bad Design, Bad Service wont stand behind warranty.
