I even planned a whole meal around trying it for the first time. Maybe me loving ranch ended up setting the expectation bar too high. The dressing is a little thick, a super weird color, and just seemed 'off'. I tried it on top of a prepared cesar salad (using the dressing instead of the cesar dressing), and on top of some ranch crusted baked chicken tenderloins. The flavor wasnt pleasant. The garlic flavor was subtle, but noticeable. It was thicker than regular ranch, and - again - just tasted sort of 'off' . I won't be buying this. I definitely think that Hidden Valley missed the mark on this one.

It does have a strong garlic flavor on its own, but when you use it as a dipping sauce, whatever you are eating cuts the garlic flavor a little and balances nicely. I find myself using this in place on other dipping sauces. I can't say I would try to use this as a salad dressing, though, as that would be too overpowering. I can see myself purchasing this in the future and maybe even using it on a burger or sandwich instead of mayo.
