I'm not a running, I bought these so I could hear my surroundings on walks and around the house, maybe cycling at some point. In fairness these are generally very clear, but the sound is very mid-high. Expect the range of a bullhorn without the oppressive horn. For the spoken word, these are just fine, and you can hear without issue. I wouldn't describe the sound as accurate. No setting of EQ changes the overall sound, it is what it is. Do not buy these for full range audio. Bass is near non-existent. You can feel it more than you hear it, which seems like a waste of battery to me. I think I'm going to keep them, because they do allow you to hear your surroundings (incredibly well) but the sound 'quality' is lacking, at least for what I am used to.

I love these OpenRun headphones. They are easy to use and clear, and I love that I can hear my surroundings. The longest I've used them is about 4 hours, and there's been no problem with holding a charge. I primarily listen to podcasts, so if the surroundings are loud (like walking near a busy street) it is a bit more difficult to hear, even with the volume up high. I like that my ear canals no longer ache from having in-ear buds, and I also like that the left/right are connected, so much less likely to lose and they will not fall out when active. I did choose the mini, which work well for me. In the cold weather when wearing a sock-hat, I do struggle with keeping my ears warm while not conflicting with the headband behind the neck. But all in all, quite pleased.

I’ve been a marathon runner wearing air pods for several years and finally was influenced to try Shokz! I like the hygiene aspect, comfort and battery life since I wear them for hours at a time! However, my biggest complaint is the volume level, even when up all the way, is too low to hear on many of my runs. I am a city runner and run next to a highway often and can not hear any of the words of my podcast during these miles when using my Shokz. Airplane is the same- these are unfortunately useless because I can’t hear anything over the plane white noise. I end up needing to hold one of the ear pieces into my ear to hear anything.

So I got them as a birthday present because I run long distances and I always complained about in ear phones and how they hurt and fell out. Aftershokz are so good, i can hear everything around me, i still hear the music loud and clear and they dont even touch my ear canal. Not just that, the packaging feels like they were trying to make the customers happy; there is a great rubber bag, two chargers and i got a running belt along with it. The quality of everything is phenomenal. The only thing I could say missing is it being swim proof. I would have loved to have this with me in the pool sessions. But overall I love them. <3

I think I'm like a lot of people when I say that I have been confused/skeptical about how or if these headphones work. Well after hearing enough positive comments (and making sure they have a decent return policy just in case) I gave them a try. I'm convinced now - they're amazing. To be clear, though: if you're looking for an immersive hi-def bass-line music experience, these are not for you. But that's not who these headphones are for anyway. If you want to just enjoy your workout, run, hike or whatever activity you're into while also catching some tunes or podcasts and still have confidence that you know what's going on around you, just get these. Try them. You'll be convinced too.

I am so happy I made the switch from ear buds. These are a game changer on my runs. They are so easy to use, have great sound quality, and I love being aware of environmental sounds as well. I gave 4 stars because they do tend to ride down in the back over time, but they are simple to adjust. I got the mini hoping this would not be an issue. Overall I would still choose them over buds.

This is my first purchase of shokz, overall I'm very pleased with one exception, it does not last long enough on the charge. The fit, comfort and sound quality for the price are exceptional. I can't find anything bad to say about them except for the battery life between charges.

I have problems with my ears and getting infections all the time. This product has allowed me to listen to my music, podcasts and books that I have not been able to in a very long time. Because they do not go inside the ear, I don’t get infections. Life changing!!!

I never talk on the phone without them now. I can hear so much better. They are so easy to use. I love them for work, so I'm not tethered to my desk. I love them for listening to music or podcasts during walks, runs, housework or whatever. I started with the original model way back when and have periodically upgraded. Customer sevice has been fast and helpful when needed. I really like the fit of the minis. It's really nice to be able to listen to music but also be able to hear and be alert to my surroundings. That's a big safety feature. Thank you for your terrific products.

I'm on my 2nd pair since I lost my 1st pair after having them for almost two years. I've bought multiple types looking for comfort and good sound that can handle my workouts and mountain bike riding. I still have the others in a drawer, but these are now my Go-To for daily activities, fast music during my workouts, Latin guitar during my bike rides, and jazz when I'm reading. The sound quality is excellent, and the feel and comfort are superior to those that wrap in my ear (disclaimer: I don't like headphones in my ear). I've purchased them as gifts and have recommended them to friends. The battery life is as long as others, but the small footprint and comfort over ride the minor issue.
