Pretty Good, Not Great (What did you all change?)

I bought these after borrowing my partner's Aeropex for over a year. I was surprised to see that Aftershokz was now just Shokz, the aeropex are now called "openrun". I assumed it was just a name change and ordered my pair, excited to have my own. I was so disappointed when I first used these headphones- although they look almost exactly the same, you can tell they changed something about them. We did a blind sound test with the Openrun and previous Aeropex and both my partner and I could tell which ones were the Openrun. The sound quality is a little worse, not super noticeable but once I realized they sound more muffled I can't unhear it. The main annoyance is when the volume is turned up high (not all the way, anything over around 75%), the headphones vibrate a little bit. Specifically the part distributing the sound right outside your ear, so it's just a constant tickle that can be so annoying. I love some things about the headphones, they allow me to listen to music/podcasts and hear my surroundings, which has been helpful in all sorts of situations. This version also charges a lot faster than the prior, but they also seem to run through battery faster. I used to charge the Aeropex maybe once/week with regular use, but I have to charge the Openrun every 1-2 days. It's not a huge deal since they charge so quickly, but something to keep in mind depending on your use. Ultimately I don't think I'd repurchase. It feels like the company changed the quality while hiding behind a "new and improved" battery, which feels gross and exploitive. They're pretty expensive for the issues that come with it. Really disappointed in these changes :(

These are definitely better than my last pair! I got the open run, size small, and they fit better. Perfectly around my neck, but still a little big when I'm wearing them on my ears. I use them everyday while walking (generally an hour at a time), sometimes twice a day. The first week I had them I forgot to shut them off. Never had issues with them dying on me but I did recharge them just in case. Sound quality is good, I only use them for calls if I happen to get a call while on my walk. I definitely think this was a good upgrade!

I love them!

Previously, I used samsung ear buds, and they worked pretty well but battery life was an issue and I always had to take one out to talk to someone. With these (openrun) I can hear everyone just fine and after a 10hr shift they are still at 60% battery life (way longer than advertised). I want another pair for home!

I don't like having a piece of headphones introduced in each of my ears. My encounter with SHOKZ was quite timely. Now I can listen to my music and answer my calls while I'm driving in a very confortable way without having to feel a strange object in my ears.

Not as good

I prefer the old style of the Air headphones. The buttons on these are too small, I had to stop running to fumble around with the multi function button when I wanted to skip a song. Also don’t like that it now uses a proprietary charger, one more charger to carry around

I wanted a pair of headphones I could use that allowed me to be able to hear what was going on. Earbuds hurt my ears, and I don't like using headphones because I can't hear what's going on around me. I like that I wear these and hear what's going on around me, but easily use the headphones if I get a call. I've not had any problems with hearing music or calls and I have not had any complaints is people not hearing me. The only thing I don't like is if I use these to listen to directions from my GPS app is that the is a delay from when the app starts to give directions to when the sound starts, so sometimes part of the directions gets cut off. Overall I have been very satisfied and would recommend these and would definitely but then again.

Great headphones.

I love these! They hold a charge well and they have great sound quality. They are a little weird to adjust to but you get used to them. I listen to podcasts and music on them and the sound is good. I do wish they had an option for people with smaller ears but they still work.

Less than a month old and already broken

Loved them at first! I felt so safe with the open ear technology but the battery would die very quickly so I charged after each run and now it will not hold a charge. It charges and red light comes on but then it never charges enough to turn on even if I leave it to charge overnight. I have only had them 3 weeks and wanted them for my ultra next week. So disappointed!!

150% recommend!!

Love them!! I this is my second pair of headphones from Shokz and I absolutely loved my first pair, the only downside to it was that the band that goes around my head was too big so sometimes they would move around a bunch depending on what I was doing so when I saw that their was a "mini" version I had to get it and it they have been spectacular and I don't accidentally bump the band and move them nearly as much. I love that I can put these headphones on and listen to a podcast or video on my phone and still be able to hear everything going on around me, which is an absolute must when I am at home with my crazy toddler running around all unpredictable as toddlers do so she can't sneak off and destroy things or hurt herself while I'm washing dishes or whatever because i can still hear what she is up to and know when shes going from room to room. 150% recommend to any and all parents for this reason alone, but there are many other great qualities to these headphones on top of that!!

Annoying beeping sounds, inaudible outdoors, and uncomfortable wearing for long runs

I purchased AfterShockz with high hopes of using the bone conduction technology but the first disappointment came when I tried using the headset outdoors - on a call, I could not hear the other person AT ALL and neither could they! The second disappointment was when the headset decided to start beeping after connecting to my Mac - the annoying beep led me to just not use the headset and I remembered how annoying this was when I asked a friend to try this. He was put off by the beeping sound experience and decided to not go with AfterShockz after this experience. This is unacceptable from a headset at this pricepoint - very very disappointed.
