Just “OK”

These headphones don’t stand out as being “great”. The fit (mini) is pretty good but the sound quality is just ok. It’s on the lower end for reproducing sound and the volume level could be better. At 1/2 volume it’s pretty low and difficult to hear over surround noise. In addition to a USB micro/mini/C/A, lighting cable, or wireless charging, a proprietary usb charging cable specific to SHOKZ has to be used. From a price/quality standpoint, there are many other options to consider.

Would be great if it would charge

These are supposed to be fast charging. They should be called never charging. I always put a charging I see the light come on and I expect it to be done. I come back the next day and it has no charge. I charge again and maybe I'll be lucky and it might work. I am very disappointed.

To this point, I enjoy

To this point, I enjoy my Shokz! They work great inside. I appreciate not having to have something stuck in my ear. The buds I have purchased in the past kept falling out. I haven't had a lot of chances to use them outdoors yet but the times that I have, it is tough to hear through them. Need to plug my ears then it's much better. Need to ask more questions of my callers on what they can hear in the background when I'm outside. Otherwise, I'm starting to see a lot of people wearing them.

Surprisingly effective

Purchased for listening to podcasts and books around the house and for workouts at gym while on travel. I was concerned that these might be uncomfortable (squeeze my head) or not loud enough to overcome equipment noise at gym. These were comfortable enough for my 2-hour workout and long listens AND I could both hear my family when they wanted my attention and hear my music over the gym noise. I am VERY happy with these.

Good but…

I decided to use this to replace my Shokz openfit. It was a great design but giving me ear irritation. So I decided to try the open run. It is nice that I do not have a case to carry around however it is giving me the same ear irritation. I have a bone conduction earbud with the same design and a much cheaper price and does not give me ear irritation. I have another Shokz device which I cannot use when running. Yes it has great feature but I cannot use it giving it a one star

Darn Right!

This is my 5th pair… 1st - Daughter, 2nd & 3rd mine. 4th, ordered not knowing my 3rd was still under warranty. 5th was replaced by Aftershokz FREE, after my pet chewed it up. 4th I gave as a gift to my sister and finally… 6th was a gift for my brother in law. We all LOVE THEM, Allot!

Not what I'd hoped for

The open run headphones do work well, but did not meet my expectations and uses. The sound is great if you are somewhere quiet, but they have a few downsides: 1. You can't hear anything from them when there are even moderately loud sounds around. Virtually unusable in a city environment. 2. The charger is unique to these headphones, so you can't charge them with chargers/cords for any other device, and you can't use this to charge any of your other devices. 3. When you turn up the volume high to hear over background noise, they start to vibrate - significantly - on your temples. It is a weird feeling, and would probably start to hurt if you kept it like that for any period of time. 4. Not a significant issue, but the band that runs behind your head sticks out from your neck which can make it uncomfortable to try to rest your head (for example against the seat back on a plane or bus, or even a pillow if you are in bed).

Rocks it!

After leaving my first pair in an AirBnB, I realized I really missed the comfort and convenience of the OpenRun Mini. They can be worn all day without pain or worry of them falling off. Way better than my AirPod Pros which I do not even know why I still have them!

This is my second pair.

This is my second pair. I had the Aeroplex from a couple of years ago. I love them! So much more comfortable than earbuds and they are secure. They do not fall off unlike the earbuds. IMO the sound is superior too. I have recommended them to my friends and even strangers lol. A very happy customer

Super comfy and useful for biking

My OpenRun with the new small band fits great among all the other stuff on my head while biking - headband, helmet, glasses all nestle around or under or over the Shokz with no muss or fuss, it just all comes together easily when put on in the right order. I'm amazed at the comfort of the small band, even though I thought I had a big head. I did the measurements and came in just under the threshold so crossed my fingers and got the short band. Totally happy with that; believe the numbers on the tape when you measure. Of course, having my ears open lets me listen for traffic or birds or ice cream trucks while still being able to hear navigation instructions, music, podcasts, or fitness tracker prompts. The volume goes up high enough without getting "buzzy" to hear on all but the busiest fastest roads. My only ding on sound is that the microphone is not as good for office work as previous Shokz iterations - callers report to me that I sound more tinny and further away than I did on my previous OpenMove. The obvious answer to that is to get am OpenComm for work and just use the OpenRun when outside. The magnetic charging port is nifty and works great, and won't wear out like the insertable USB plugs do sometimes, but I'm a little worried about having just one little proprietary cord to keep track of and being stuck out in the world without it. With previous designs I could use a generic USB cord to charge up if needed. Anyone on the fence about these headsets just take the leap you will be so glad you did!
