I am retired and prepare or cook at least one vegetable a day. I own the GZ version of this mandolin and I noticed that a long rectangular keeper was just made available which I plan to buy soon. For thin slicing and julienne cuts nothing is better than this machine, I do advise rinsing right away especially for potatoes. DASH-please make an insert part for the food shute that will hold one carrot or celery. And consider making a guillotine shredder version of this with metal blades that could possibly be changed between fine, medium, course shreds-sorry but the julienne part of the current model is not the same as a shredder. It would need a longer food shute and food pusher without a lip but some anti slip prongs. I would be the first one in line to buy this. Thank you. Hazelnut

I love this thing! I loved my old mandolin, but it was getting dull and I kept making cuts on my fingers. This one is so much cooler! It is so easy to change between the slicer and the julienne functions. Perfect for my needs. it stores easily also. My old mandolin always had an exposed blade. I love that this one clicks into a compact size and I don't have to dodge the blade when I get it out of the cabinet.

This is the best one of the DASH products I have bought. Does just what it says it does, so well. Love it and the fact am not worried I will cut fingers, I can have grand daughter use it to slice things as my "helper". It was confusing to figure the little levers adjustment to set up julienned vs slicing but I just marked the little levers when I figured it out and now all is well. I use this at least three times a week.

I bought a basic mandolin as a helper for my arthritic hands. It was so difficult to use! After researching I found the Dash Mandolin and it's absolutely amazing. Best gift I've given myself in ages. So easy to use. Extra safe and makes quick work of food prep. I am so happy with my purchase!

This is the best slicer Ive ever owned. I have an expensive mandolin that Ive used a couple of times but its more of a pain to use and I always cut myself, with this slicer I can adjust the slice sizes and it works so quickly and gave me such thin slices of my carrots and cucumbers. I was amazed and Ive only just started using it so I cant wait to try out all the other cuts that I can make with this!

Hard to clean and there is no way to sharpen the blade. The only way to clean is to put it in the dishwasher which will dull the blade over time. The chute is also to small to slice a whole onion into rings or slice a whole potato. It is perfect for brussel sprouts or a potato galette or smaller/thinner slices so I’m going to keep it

Years ago I had a horrible experience with a traditional mandoline slicer and have been traumatized ever since, to the point that I couldn’t even watch someone else use one on tv, in person, etc. I watched a presentation of this and it seemed very, very safe and like something I would be ok using. I tried to today and could not be happier!! Completely comfortable and super easy to use! Thank you Chef Zakarian!

I just bought this safe slicer and I really like it. I have really bad hand tremors which makes it hard for me to be able to slice or dice anything without getting cut. I haven’t used the dicing part but I did slice some red potatoes and did the slices on thin and thinner. I put them in my air fryer for potato chips!

Years ago, I had bought a Pampered Chef Mandolin which was pretty pricey. So I had a party to earn it. After years of searching for the right slicer buying multiple ones, I have finally found it! With having back issues, this beats them now that I can do it in a timely manner. Plus it is compact, so will work great for camping, vacation while renting AirBNB places, my camper, canning, ect.. I had purchased it from Sam’s Club around Christmas and now wish I would have tried it sooner. Fried up home fries and onions. I was so impressed, I had my husband stop what he was doing to come and try it. Now I can unclutter all of the gadgets I have since this one does so much and is Safe!!!

Recommended with Reservations. This is a nice, functional and useful "Home Kitchen" Mandoline. "Safe Use" is "designed into the unit". As with Razor-Sharp Cutlery, "Safe Use" depends on 1) the Operator, 2) Proper Set-Up & Attachment Selection and 3) Food Type. Used properly, this can be Safely used. (It is SAFER than a Commercial Kitchen Mandoline, but not as capable.) Blades are razor-sharp, a very necessary feature. It is easy to clean and store, requiring minimal space. Be careful to Keep Away From Children.
