Value for the money

I bought 4 new tires for my 1971 Corvette almost a year ago to pass state annual inspection. I have just read the browning challenges and I empathize with anyone’s discontent. I have had consumer let down on other products but I have had no issues with my BF Goodrich RWL purchase. I wish all well during these challenging times.

Raised Letters turned brown

As of January 2016, I'm on my third set of BF Goodrich T/A's, 255/60/15. that are on a car that I show and not drive that much. The first set set were on 10 years and were great, the letters stayed white, rarely needed cleaning. The next set was put on almost immediately the letters started turning brown. I went back to the dealer, who was great to work with me and they replaced the tires. Well, the second set is no better, in fact worse and seems the more time that passes the worse they get. This is a car that stays in garage and driven to shows and cruising on weekends only, so they are not abused. I have tried every cleaning process possible and nothing works. I am so frustrated that I am ready to foot the expense to purchase another brand. I read so many post where people have the same problem. Seems to be a chemical issue.

GREAT TIRES

I've been running B.F.Goodrich tires on all my cars and trucks sense the 80's have never had any problems with any of there tires and just last year we replaced all 6 vehicle's tires and believe me my wife is the roughest on the tires of the cars she drives.

Browning letters

To all you proud owners of the raised white letter T/A radial, don't despair. I had a set of 275/60/15's on my Silverado and kept them as white as the Arctic White paint. It's called an S.O.S. scouring pad. Wet one and the letters, give them a brisk scrubbing, rinse off soap residue and they are WHITE again. IT WORKS.

Need larger Radial T/A'S

I have owned many sets of BF GOODRICH RADIAL T/A I love the look and performance of the tire. I don't understand why it is not made in the new larger wheel sizes. Not everyone want's rubber bands on large wheels. This is an iconic tire and has a great look with the white letters. I need these tires for larger wheels for the stance and look I want on my car's and truck's. Not everyone wants their vehicles dragging on the ground.

Brown tires

Well would have thought BFG had fixed this issue years ago. My tires are 2 yrs. old and car is garaged, driven 1000 miles or so a year. After a few hours in the sun at a car show the whole sidewall turns brown , not just the white letters. Looks like I went 4 wheeling in the mud. Car rides awesome with tires but looks awful. Should have bought the Cooper tires.

Raised Brown Letters

I have owned several sets of BFG Radial TA's throughout the years and had nothing but praise for them. Until now, that is. My latest set seemed different from the day I bought them. The blue protective coating seemed nearly impossible to remove. Then, the white letters just didn't seem to come clean. These tires are on a collector car that stays safely stored in a garage and only gets driven to car shows and cruises. However, after being stored away, the lettering is now stained brown. Also, the black sidewalls are discolored as well. They seem to be oozing some sort of solvent. I've tried every type of cleaner and scrubbing method to no avail. So BFG, what gives? None of the previous versions I've purchased have had this problem. Just a quick search on the internet shows that this is a widespread problem with these tires. The irony of this issue is this. Consumers who buy these particular tires are classic car enthusiasts who take great pride in every detail of their cars. They want to take them to shows and cruises and present them as works of art. Frankly, I'm embarrassed to take my car anywhere with my BF (Brown Font) Goodrich Radial TA's on it. Other enthusiasts look at me in disgust as if I couldn't take 5 minutes to clean my tires! So my question to you is, "How can you market a specialty tire to a certain target group, yet your tire no longer meets that groups need? BTW, I paid much more for this set of BFG's than I did for any previous sets I've owned, yet I've got an inferior product. Is Goodrich doing anything to address this problem or accommodate customers, or would you prefer that loyalists like myself look to other tire manufacturers?

Great tires

I bought these tires for my classic muscle car. They are absolutely a perfect ride offering strong a grip, and a great wearing high mileage tire. I've purchased these tires for years on multiple vehicle's and have never been disappointed. Although they need to find a way to reduce the price without compromising the quality, they are expensive!

Raised Brown Letters

Purchased these tires to replace 15 year old Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tires. These are installed on a 1972 Rally Nova classic car that is shown at many car shows. These BF Goodrich Radial T/A make my classic car look horrible since the raised white letters, in a very short time, turned brown. No amount of cleaning, sanding or using harsh chemicals will make them white again. I never had this problem with the Cooper tires over a 15 year time period. They were always white and just needed cleaning with soap and water once in a while. Looks like this has been a problem for years after reading the reviews. Sounds like they may have fixed the problem now but state "all white letter tire will change color over time". Not so with my old Cooper tires. They were just as white as the day I bought them 15 years later. The only way to make the BF Goodrich tires white again is by painting the letters, which is time consuming and not a permanent fix.

Raised Brown Letters? What’s goin on here?

I am in the market for some new shows on my 1970 Chevelle SS Convertible. I was seconds away from pulling the trigger thru Summit Racing. After ready no these posts about brown letters, I think I will look at other tire suppliers. Thanks for the heads up everyone!
