This is the second Generac generator. I move away from the first that was a 20KW on natural gas. I had no problems with it during the 7 years it was in service. I installed a 22KW on propane as soon I got settled here. No problems with this unit in the three months since installed. In Oklahoma we are subject to power outages any time.

The dealer / installer, Fernando from Poteet, TX. did a Great job! He knows his stuff. We had the Generac whole house generator installed on 12-01-2016. We live in an area that has many power outages. Last Sunday, 01-22-2017, we had extremely heavy winds in our area causing a power outage for approx 2 hours. Of course, because of Generac, we had uninterrupted whole house power during the outage. Now our neighbor wants a Generac . We are happy with our Generac investment.

We live 1 1/2 miles from the highway on a dirt road. In 1995 when Opal came through, we were without power for a week. Now that we are older, as bad as that was then, it would be a very bad imposition now. With our generator, we can keep the entire house going now and don't have to worrying about power outages.

my utility company advised me of a short shut down that was going to occur on the same day my wife was coming home from foot surgery. She is also handicapped and uses an electric scooter outside the house and a small indoor scooter and a walker inside. I had planned for some time to put a small generator in. This event forced my hand to act quickly. I still do some business travel and felt I need full system protection and not just a small generator for emergency purposes. Mine has worked exactly as I had hoped it would. That is, it only turns it's on Saturday at 2pm to perform its weekly check... Haven't had any power outages yet requiring its service but it has given me a comfort level knowing it will come on and my home will be powered since I have a disabled son here 24 hours per day.

New, for me, technology vs. setting an alarm to put gas in a generator that's outside. Relatively quiet and it tests itself weekly. Only had to use 3 times, but when the lights go out before it kicks in, it's a great feeling know it's there. A complimentary product would be a surge protector that would protect the entire house.

Apart from the weekly tests we have had one opportunity to see the generator in action when a nearby transformer failed. We had full power restored within a minute, and seamless transfer back to utility power once the repairs were complete. My only complaint is that as an engineer, I'd like to get more data from the weekly tests. All I get is "It started, it ran, it stopped". I would like to see logs of fuel consumption, oil pressure, temperature, and generators output. I've asked about this information but my requests went unanswered.

The generator is top quality and is allowing my hundred year old mother to remain in her home with only part time caregiver service. She would be too nervous about power outages to live alone without it. We have confidence in your product. A neighbor has agreed to shovel around the generator if there is more than 8 inches of snow so it can work. It is worth the expense. Installation by one of your certified installers is important too.

The unit has responded on one outage and worked just as it should. The power automatically came back on generator power and everything worked in the house. It only took a few seconds for it to come on and it cycled right off when power was restored from the grid.

Adding this back up generator system to our retirement home gives of great piece of mind whether we are home or out of town. We know that it will keep our home powered up due to storm, outage or whatever the cause and our food, heat, cooling, and essential devices will have power. We are now older and this investment means we will have everything we need power wise no matter the situation. All automated and worry free.
