I had a 4th gen Apple TV HD and all of the apps ran smoother than on this one and the remote on the 4k is a little glitchy as in sometimes the buttons don’t work when you press them or it will press it twice when you only press it once. Honestly feels like a downgrade everything about the new one is slower.

Have owned roku4, firetv, Nvidia, and the apple4k 1st gen. Using to watch movies VIA plex and the apple will direcr play all formats (i.e. mkv, hevc, etc). The only thing I didn't like was the remote, but now with the 4k 2nd gen the remote has been completely redesigned and is awesome!! Additionally the new processor is noticeably faster!

Purchased this as a home hub to allow me to control my devices using Siri even when I’m not on my home WiFi. It worked by you must sign the Appletv in using the same account as the originally connected Apple home kit app. Which means. Even though I shared my HomeKit with my wife. And she could turn everything on and off with the shared home the tv would not turn thing on and off. I had to disconnect my devices from my home and reconnect them to her HomeKit app so that the tv would directly connect and allow me to turn things on and off from outside the house. And I know what you are thinking why didn’t I just log the tv in as me. And that was because my wife has all of the movies on her account. A little headache to start makes it easier for later.

The device is great if ur first time user or coming from Apple TV HD, or adding a new TV. If u have Apple TV 4K 1.0 like me you wont notice the difference except the remote. Overall it’s a great device especially for users with Apple devices.

Bought this to replace a 1st generation AppleTV and saw that it was only $99.99 at my local store. It works as intended and the picture looks fantastic. Love the wide variety of apps in the app store.

Honestly this is a much better buy then any other smart tv apps for your tv. You literally have everything in one, just as you would on your phone. Great product and is very well worth the price here.

The new remote is much better than the old one. It has a power button and a labeled back button with an arrow. I attached it to my Samsung TV and it is showing great picture quality. I'm happy with it.
