Reading the 1-star reviews made me hesitant, thinking that perhaps it was just an anomaly. The shipment arrived on time. I opened up the box to find the large suitcase. I assumed that the smaller one was inside. I grabbed the side handle and carried it up our stairs to immediately pack for a trip. Before I reached the top of the stairs, the zipper material separated from the hard shell. I could not believe it. I didn't bother opening it, but I marched it back down to the box, packed it back up, and drove it to Sam's for a refund, where I purchased a new Samsonite set. The weight of the smaller suitcase inside was not much at all. I can only imagine the disaster that awaited me had I used it on the trip. The Samsonite set worked like a charm that weekend.
